Noreen Davies Hikers & Bikers Charity
Noreen Davies Hikers & Bikers started in June, 1988 with a one-day 12 mile sponsored cycle or walk around Millport. One bus departed from Baillieston where Noreen lived and now we have 7 buses leaving from Baillieston, Bellshill, Uddingston and Hamilton. Noreen herself started the charity when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a son Christopher who is spina bifida. Noreen died in 1992 at the age of 34.
After Noreen’s death the annual cycle was continued around Millport which takes place on the first Saturday in June. Last year there were approximately 300 people took part.
In November each year we invite along to our charity night representatives from Marie Curie Hospice Huntershill, St Andrew’s Hospice, Beatson Oncology and CHAS to present them with cheques which were raised on the cycle run. The approximate total to-date raised is £160,000. We also donate to various smaller local charities each year.
Now...here's where i'm going to put my begging hat on ...
I KNOW this is a financially challenging time for most people...but if anyone would like to sponsor me no matter how small/large the amount....could you please, PLEASE donate through my Paypal account (Dawndbbear@aol.com) and tick the box that says gift.. that way i can keep a record of sponsorship/donation name/amount details to keep track of any monies that do come in.

My long suffering other half Brian has also been roped in yet again to take a form/bucket around his work for me
Last year ...my second year i managed to raise over £100/$160 (which at least equaled my previous first year’s sponsorship which I was pleased with)..and of course I would LOVE to beat that total..
This year the walk/cycle takes place on Sat 4th June..and I would appreciate any donations/sponsorship you lovely people are able to help me gain.
