So Pheebes finally got her World o' Warcraft today. And after a month of anxious thumb twiddling it was with a strange mix of anticipation and horror that we pawed through the box contents... For a game that houses 99% of its core information online, that's a helluva lot of discs to be feeding into a poor unsuspecting computer. And the manual, o the manual!
Am I suprised? Nay. I've seen more than enough rabid fandom from my close friends and the geeky websites I frequent, but it's another thing to be looking the cause of your potential social demise right in the face. Okay, so its not mine, and my poor '99 laptop with the broken power cord and 2 gigs of free space would turn over and die if I suggested the idea, but it's still scary, y'know? I know I'm gonna be watching over Phoebe's shoulder for much of the next week, and probably playing a bit meself. We will see. we will see. It's rainy and icky out in Bellingham today, so there's not much else I feel guilty about blowing off.
