I now have a piece for my portfolio
I wrote a press release today. Writing a release is not so much the accomplishment as it is getting something tangible done that I can take away from this experience and put in my portfolio. And the resident editor read it over and only had a few very small corrections. One period, one apostrophe, one extra word. The teaching has done me good.
I hope this event actually happens. I want some event planning experience. It may come in handy later.
So much of the time I spend there is wasted. I don't really do well with that but I do what I can. And they aren't paying me so I don't feel guilty.
I have another writing assignment for tomorrow so I am excited about that. I won't have to wait for the rest of the staff to roll in before I can get productive.
