Character info
Series/Fandom: Castlevania
Character's Name: Adrian "Alucard" Farenheights Tepes
Character's Sex: Male
Character's Age: ~550
Canon point: Post-Dawn of Sorrow (Bad Ending/Julius Mode).
Abilities: Alucard is a dhampir, which means he essentially has all of a vampire's strengths and none of the typical vampire weaknesses; this is the basis for all of his abilities.
▫ [Vampirism]: Still being a creature of the night, even if only half of one, he is vulnerable to (and cannot come into contact with) the more sacred hunter weapons in Castlevania like the Vampire Killer. And while he can wield Holy Water, he also seems vulnerable to it. He also retains the ability to grow strong from drinking blood, but never uses this on anything outside of monsters and demons. In the physical sense, he is stronger than an ordinary human but not as powerful as a vampire like Dracula. The price for losing typical vampire vulnerabilities is that he becomes vulnerable to everything. While he has superior resistance and strength compared to a normal human, he can be harmed by any means and still requires rest if he has been worn too thin. His immortality only lends itself to agelessness. He has also shown the ability to sense other supernatural beings.
▫ [Weaponry]: He's had a lot of time to master weaponry and as such, is quite skilled with it. However, his skill with said weaponry seems to be limited to various swords, projectiles, and his bare fists. In particular, he is rarely - if ever - seen without the Alucard Sword, which is a family heirloom from his mother's side.
▫ [Dark Magic]: Between being born with the ability and training personally under Dracula's wing, Alucard knows a fair amount of dark magic. In his repertoire are: Summon Soul, Tetra Soul, Dark Metamorphosis, Hellfire, and Soul Steal. The first two in the bunch are essentially summoning fierce spirits that will attack his opponents before flying away. Dark Metamorphosis simply allows the player to enable his vampirism for a period of time. Hellfire creates three balls of fire which will spread out across the screen until they hit a target (whether that be a wall or an enemy). Soul Steal is typically as it sounds: it takes life from anything in the vicinity. It, however, does not literally steal the soul; it merely siphons off energy. In some versions of Hellfire, he has been shown to be able to teleport, but this ability is very limited. Worth noting is that he apparently found a way to change his appearance (or rather, transform into 'Genya Arikado'), but it's not described as to how he does this. When it's referred to, it's just said he 'transforms'-- most likely through a complicated spell. He won't be using that form here, though.
▫ [Shapeshifting]: Like his father, Alucard is capable of shapeshifting. His shapeshifting is limited to three forms: a bat, a wolf, and a cloud of mist. He can only maintain these forms for a limited amount of time, as it takes energy, but he can morph freely between them.
▫ [Summoning]: As a pseudo addition to his ability to cast dark magic, he is also capable of summoning familiars. These familiars are limited to: a fairy, a lower level demon, a bat, a ghost, and a sword. They're not very powerful on their own and he tends not to use them, but they have been known to be helpful in a pinch.
Background: There's a lot of history to this guy, so you're welcome to look at it all
here. However, I'm being a little more specific about his canon so I'll write out a brief synopsis as well.
Adrian Farenheights Tepes, or as he is better known, Alucard, was born a dhampir: the son of Lord Vlad Tepes Dracula and a human- Lisa Farenheights. While he was still young, he witnessed his mother's burning at the stake, her incredible skill with medicine mistaken for witchcraft. This was something that further set off Dracula's hatred for mankind. Despite training directly under his father and inheriting many of his dark powers, Adrian would eventually take up arms against him. Lisa's dying words to her son were to have mercy on mankind. Theirs was already a hard lot, and if he could not live with them, then at least do them no harm. The day Adrian chose to stand up to his father, he gave himself the name "Alucard" - his father's name spelled backwards - as a metaphor that he stood opposite him.
In 1476, Dracula would wage war on the humans as revenge for the death of Lisa. Alucard lay in wait for the one who had the power to defeat the Dark Lord, and soon enough, Trevor Belmont happened upon the dhampir. When he attacked the Belmont in order to test his skill, Alucard was defeated. At that time, Alucard would request alliance with Trevor and his allies and aid them in destroying Dracula. Despite Dracula's intentions for evil, he felt guilty for slaying his own father and resigned himself to an eternal slumber until he was needed again.
In 1797, Alucard awoke from his deep slumber when Richter Belmont had gone missing and Dracula's castle, the enigmatic Castlevania, revealed itself again. The appearance of Castlevania was never good news, and thus, Alucard went to investigate. Within, he rescued Richter from mind control and faced his freshly ressurected father. After a failed attempt to beckon Alucard to join him, Dracula engaged in a fierce battle with his son. He was defeated, but the two seemed to come to something of an understanding on Lisa's last words before Dracula perished once again. Regardless, Alucard knew his father would eventually return to blot out humanity and struck out on his own to actively work against those who would ressurect Dracula.
By 2035, Alucard altered his appearance and took up the name Genya Arikado, posing as a Japanese agent in a top-secret organization. It would be Dracula's reincarnation, Soma Cruz, that would capture his attention this time. A prophecy became known by that time: the magic that banished Dracula's castle into the eclipse would be waning and should someone with ill intentions get ahold of the power within it, Dracula would be reborn. With Soma, however, there was hope to cut off the flow of Dracula's power from the castle. As a self-aware user of that power and a generally good person for starters, he was able to reseal the castle and cut off the threat of Dracula's return for the time being. A year later, however, Alucard was forced to track down Soma once again in order to protect him from a cult that would covet his reincarnated powers of Dracula. He ordered him to stay somewhere safe until he and his associates could exterminate the cult, but naturally, Soma did not stay put, earning some rather angry beration from Alucard later. Regardless, they resolved to work together to stop the cult. Unfortunately, Soma was lured into a trap meant to awaken the powers of Dracula and failed to see through it. Alucard, being too late to warn him, was forced to watch Soma's psychological state snap, transforming him into the Dark Lord. Forced to drop his disguise as Arikado, it then became his bitter mission to work alongside Julius Belmont and Yoko Belnades to end Soma's life before he could continue Dracula's dark legacy.

Personality: To scratch the surface would be to say that Alucard is a loner. He deliberately keeps people at arms length, preferring solitude over the company of others. He's the sort of guy who prefers to work in the background. Not only is it what he is accustomed to, but it is better not to become attached or to bring much attention to himself, both due to his immortality and his cursed bloodline.
Most are generally put off by his cold and distant nature, making him rather difficult to approach at times. A creature of logic, Alucard is one to think of what should be done rather than what the heart dictates. This trait keeps him and his allies level-headed and aware, as jumping into situations headfirst would likely lead to death or worse in his "line of work". Naturally, he has also had centuries to practice such self-control; he is a hardened warrior. While he doesn't trust easily and disapproves of mankind's more selfish nature, he doesn't desire to harm them as his father does. In his mind, it's not his place to judge mankind, nor is it his father's. Wiping out an entire world in order to rid it of the selfish and closeminded doesn't sit well with him, so he chooses to defend it in the name of his mother and those who truly do good in the world.
In spite of his cold disposition, Alucard is unwaveringly loyal to those he can call allies and is driven by a sense of honor. By default, he is respectful of others, though certainly prone to dry and sarcastic remarks. He portrays a strong protectiveness over his allies (and the memories of them), quickly jumping to their defense if they falter or are insulted. To his enemies, however, he shows very little mercy. Most of his enemies are creatures of darkness, who know no mercy themselves; showing them humanity would only leave himself vulnerable. By no means is he cruel, but he will not hesitate to do what needs to be done. Duty comes before anything else.
Although he most often exhibits a calm and collected demeanor, he has a sharp temper burrowed underneath it all. He has been known to berate others for deliberately putting themselves in danger or acting recklessly, and he doesn't tolerate those close to him being mocked or badmouthed. It's normally quick to subside, as there are usually more pressing matters to worry about, but he is unforgiving and ruthless if someone has done something truly terrible. With that said, he doesn't mince words when he's not angry either. Alucard is very direct and will tell it as he sees it. He dislikes bringing too much attention to himself, so he is rather concise when he speaks and avoids talking about himself when he can help it.
Past all of that unapproachable and harsh exterior, however, is a kind man. Much of his mother's gentle nature is ingrained in him. Largely peaceful, he rarely initiates conflict unless he's provoked and even felt incredibly guilty over having to slay his own father. When it comes down to it, he's essentially devoted his life to protecting the world from evil and inevitably cares a lot about what happens to others. ...Albeit, he cares in his own unique way. Nevertheless, his mother and her last words to him are the driving force behind nearly all of his actions and he always means well. He would never dream of doing anything that would bring shame to his mother or her name.
Perhaps it's from being as old as he is or knowing that there is always work to be done, but he rarely stands idle for long. You might call him a bit of a workaholic, but he probably wouldn't care for that term much.

Action/Journal Sample:
[A very pallid man with yellow eyes peers into the feed, his face drawn back into a grim frown. He leans back a bit once he gets it working and gets straight to business.]
The creature that called itself a moogle did its best to inform me of this "Darkness" entity and not at all discreetly... Given that reaction, it would be safe to assume all refugees here are aware of this issue, then? ...I am hardly used to such matters being openly discussed like so.
I must ask, then: has anyone discovered what the source of this all-consuming Darkness is?
[A pause... He can only assume the worst, and right now, he's assuming Soma is behind this. Of course, he isn't going to jump to that conclusion, especially on a public feed.]
Yoko, Julius-- if either of you are out there, speak to me as soon as you are able.
RP Sample: They met briefly before parting ways: Julius to seek out Yoko and Alucard to prepare accordingly for the long road ahead. Once in a temporary safe haven from the monsters roaming the area, he reversed the complex spell holding the guise of Genya Arikado together and once again became Adrian. With a note of finality, he drew the thin blade that served him centuries on end from its sheath as soon as it appeared. Once again, he would be challenging the Dark Lord... He hardly took solace in having to slay someone he deemed an ally, but he knew full well the possibility of it ending like this. A terrible stroke of fate. None of them could afford to have second thoughts about this. They needed to strike Soma down before he had a chance to further gather his power. No doubt that powerful force of darkness from within the Abyss was his.
"I'm sorry, Soma. It should have never ended this way," he mused sullenly, as if the young man were standing before him.
With a fluid downward swipe of the blade, Alucard pushed those thoughts aside and waited at the entrance of the demonic guest house for the arrival of his comrades. He could sense them drawing closer. Julius seemed... surprised that he had to dismiss the form of Arikado, but business was business.
"Don't forget. This is our mission, now."
Yoko gave her companions a sad smile and a nod, "Don't worry. We both prepared ourselves for this, Alucard. I don't want to hurt Soma, but we need to put his soul at ease."
"I made a promise that I'd defeat him if the power of the Dark Lord ever became too much. I intend to keep that promise," Julius added, solemn.
Barely sparing a moment to look between the two of them, Alucard gave a single nod.
"Very well, then. Let us go. There's not much time left."
