(no subject)
What's this? Me updating my journal? :-o
I'm home on a sick leave with a stomach bug that already went through Ellen and Michael. After surfing the net all morning I thought I might as well update a bit.
Nothing majorly big has happened over here in the recent months. The weather has sucked all through the winter. It's +5C and we have no snow in FEBRUARY?!?! What is this? But from what I gather, it sucks elsewhere, too. It really affects one's mood. I realize on those days that the sun is shining and I can feel the energy flowing into my body. I just watched a Nightwish video blog from China/Japan/Australia where they were swimming in the Aussie ocean and that made me feel like travelling there so bad! One day one day... Speaking of travelling we were supposed to visit Oulu (Northern Finland) last weekend as my uncle turned 50 and grandmother 80. It would've been a perfect chance to meet all my relatives both from mom's and dad's sides. But of course we didn't go with Ellen being sick. Seven hours by train one way would've been stressful and tough on a healthy kid, let alone someone who had just recoverred from a stomach bug. :P It was a shame. My grandpa turns 80 in April so we might go then... We're also thinking about travelling somewhere during summer holidays, no idea where yet, though.
Ellen turned 2 (already?) on February 5th. We had her grandparents' over for some cake and fun and she got so many presents. The whole apartment is overflowing with toys. :) We also got her hair cut on her birthday and she looks more girlish now. And she talks a lot (both languages, also mixing them in funny way), sings and dances, plays her new Moomin harmonica, loves to bake... Energetic little girl who also knows how to show her own will at times (uhmaikä).
The concerts that we saw in the end of last year were all great, the best being PORCUPINE TREE! Awesome! We now have tickets to see Bon Jovi in June and Def Leppard has Helsinki on their tour dates list in May although no sign of tickets just yet. We've never seen them before so we're looking forward to it. The summer will bring many bands here it seems, one of which that interests Micke is Overkill in Oulu. All old bands for us it seems.
Ack! Feeling "funny" so I think I will lie down a bit. I'm always reading you guys, even if not updating...
