Had a very relaxing weekend, more relaxing than I had first planned! I had some trouble getting to Ashley's because I didn't have any change for bus fair - and this was annoying since I ran fast to try and catch the bus. I then went to get some money, and hoped to catch another bus - but marginally missed this one too :-( - I went home for a few minutes, and then left again, this time I managed to actually get on the bus.
We went to a new place to eat, by the beach. The Durley Inn, which belongs to a franchise (similar to Wetherspoons). The food was excellent, and served in good time. The lack of choice was off-putting - but even when we have choice we tend to go with the same kinda stuff. The beer was limited, which is a major let-down. But then again, we do get to sit next to the beach and listen to the waves etc.
I think it's good to at least have increased our 'choice of places to go', though as Ashley pointed out - you don't gain much out of an evening, and have to travel there and back. But I think it's worth-while, all the same!
The next evening, I had forgottern, was my Gran's Birthday dinner party. This was celebrated in my cousin's hotel resturant (she's like top person in charge of food-stuffs, head-chef?) - anywho - the food here was excellent and the choice was fantastic. But this one meal cost me (even with the 20% discount) as much as the meal for both Ashley and I to eat the night before. I'm told at lunch times they have excellent deals at the resturant - and everybody loves teh food there.
Monday was okay, I managed to do a wide range of tasks - including much of my cirriculum vitae. Today I've phoned a potential employer and they're sending me more information about the position, and I hope to get an application sent by Thursday.
Yesterday I was checking out course requirements at the universities I'm interested in: Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth. Today I've started the UCAS 'apply' process - and before I go to work I'm going to get a prospectus sent from each of these places, and also note down all the open-days.
I still have a huge erge to want to do XVII work, even though I promised myself some time to apply for work and universities. I will spend a day, probably Friday, working soley on a few projects to get them to a decent state of completion. It's amazing how quickly a week gets full of "tasks to do" and how you realise that time disappears quite rapidly.
I've not given my Birthday much thought yet... I have some ideas of "things to get" and also have some thoughts about ways to celebrate my Birthday...
The date of "Shanna's coming" draws ever nearer! *dances* I can't wait for her to move here :) - it's really a huge life change for Shanna, and something that's going to be difficult for her to do (leaving family behind). Us lot will have to start a fund to bring Kimbra over as soon as we can afford to.
I've been reasonably happy for some time now. Part of that is being able to feel relaxed and secure in a relationship, and the other part has been learning to take lifes small ups and downs and look on the bright side. There's much for me to accomplish, but I believe I can do it.
