[40th] Georgia. Food

Everybody knows that food is my passion.

So I couldn't but try the Best of Georgian cuisine despite my "sensible diet") fortunately, people around were ready to satisfy my gastronomiс curiosity, and I had a chance to taste everything worth tasting to the local people  liking.
And Georgian food definetly came up to my expectations.

Their food is mostly about cheese, vegetables and meet. So, on the one hand, they have an incredible variety of hachapuri (who could imagine that there are so many ways to combine cheese and bread!) and, on the other, lots of meat dishes and vegetable appetizers.
Meat is always served with different sauces, mostly made of a particular kind of plumps (tkemali) or walnuts.

I found Georgian cuisine too hot and fatty (not to speak of enormous meal portions) in general, but there are dishes that won my heart:

#1 The Best of the Best. Hachapuri Adjarali !
An extremely beautiful dish itself, which is interesting to eat and pleasure to taste.
This one we ordered at a restaraunt

And I liked it so much that my thoughtful guide Gia found people who were happy to invite me to their place and teach me how to bake it by myself! An amazing experience

#2 ...

Hinkali! Enourmous "pelmeni") People say that it's common to eat 10-15 at a time, but I managed to cope only with 3....

#3 Kabab

A very tasty cutlet in lavash with barberries sauсe

#4 Mchadi. A corn pancake with cheese. Used as bread sometimes. I was also taught to make it

#5 Lobiani. A hachapuri with haricot

#6 Lobio. Boiled haricot with spices in a pot

That is famous Lagidze Water with different syrups which you can mix any way you like

We also visited a local market. A very interesting place indeed)

And this is one of those wonderful beatiful breakfasts I was served at the guest house (I couldn't help taking a picture of it)

You can see some matsoni with jam above. I guess matsoni was the only national dish which was absolutely safe for my health and which I enjoyed a lot)
