So, Jesse's friend came over to play chess today along with his dog. The dog gets along great with our dogs, but Jesse forgot to put the cats away. It scared (by chasing and growling) poor Sienna, who climbed up the window via the caulking (so I'm told, and I saw the claw marks). As she hung at the top by one paw with nowhere to go Jesse grabbed her and got her down. But she freaked and bit him - three good puncture wounds. He went to ER during the day (at the hospital that I don't like or trust because of my own past experience and my doctor's recommendations) and they sent him home with antibiotics. When I saw him at 6 I was like, hmmm, I think they should have given you an IV not pills (as he thought as well). By 11 it was hurting really bad, the swelling was not down, and there was puss coming out. So I took him to the good hospital in town. I just got home and he's checked into the hospital for the night. Yes, on an IV, yes they cut into him to help drain it, and yes there's a bad ass infection that might require surgery. So, they want to monitor him all night. He'll either go home in the morning or he'll have to have it operated on. Cat bites are nasty.
So, I hated to leave the hospital, but practically speaking I had to get some sleep since I have a full day of classes and teaching and work tomorrow. Hopefully, he will be better in the morning. I love that hospital. I always get great care there - the other one sucks.
Night.
