Comic-con 2008

Friday
- Cosplayed Joo Dee from Avatar and inaudibley (welcome to LJ! :D) was a Yu Yan Archer. It was fun to be recognized by other Avatards. Some of them knew who I was but most people couldn't quite remember who the Yu Yan Archers were and just shouted out, "OH Arrow!" xDD It was funny.
- Met up with mognetcentral as bishilicious teashop Zuko and her amazing-looking friends. Also, saw kiralikescake as sexy 2nd season Zuko and nerdcore as badass Jet. :) I also saw ycysusan as Kanda earlier in the day and unlock out of cosplay, but still looking cute.
- The Avatar panel was so many levels of awesome! I was a finalist in the Costume Contest again. I honestly wasn't expecting it because it was such an obscure and simple cosplay! D: I didn't win but I got an amazing Sokka bobble-head!

SO CUTE. &hearts
- Watching the finale with a room full of Avatards was full of facepalms but still pretty exciting and fun. Also, Mike and Bryan have the best sense of humor. Book 4 was full of win.

Saturday
- Cosplayed Nazna Gemini from ZOMBIEPOWDER for Kubo Tite panel. It was lots of fun to hang out with ycysusan (as Mashiro from Bleach) for the panel. Kubo is kinda a hottie lol. xDDD Most of the questions were pretty good and we learned a lot about his inspirations and saw a video tour of his workspace. Susan and I camped out for two panels to get in haha. I hope he might have seen and recognized who I was cosplaying but probably not. junemermaid's winning fanart was fantastic! :D Congratulations!
- Next, Susan and I ran over to the Fairy Tail panel and she literally changed into Virgo as we walked over. It was awesome. xD Hiro Mashima is freaking cute! He said he was excited to see cosplayers from Fairy Tail and gave us an awesome drawing demonstration. Soon I'll be making Erza so maybe he'll come back and I'll wear it. :D
- Masquerade that night was pretty awesome. I liked a bunch of the skits and my favorites included Takarazuko's West Side Avatar, SSBB the musical, the Orc one, Eternal Sonata, and Marvin the Martian. The half-time show seemed promising at first but was way too long so inaudibley and I left early.

Thoughts overall
- Rooming with friends and kiralikescake was super fun! :D Your Doctor cosplay was so nice!
- There were a lot fewer cosplayers this year. Most of the fun I had this time wasn't from cosplay, but just hanging out with people.
- Next year, I'm either volunteering or only buying two day-passes. I ended up not really going on Thursday or Sunday, so I felt like I wasted my full pass. :/
- The anime fans at Comic-con really give anime fans in general a bad rap. It's like the worst fans at anime conventions decide to go to there and do especially weeaboo crap.
- Recently, I don't care about getting autographs for anything anymore so I didn't try to get Kubo's or Hiro's. I kinda regret about not getting Kubo's but whatever.
- EPIC night drive back to the hotel and EPIC drive home were EPIC. On Friday night, we were driving back to the hotel and got intensely lost. What was normally a 10-minute drive took over an hour lol. Also, on the way back home, inaudibley and I blindly missed the 57 freeway and ended up in Los Angeles before figuring out that we'd missed it. xDDD And of course, everyone who arrived in San Diego on Thursday by car knows of the 5 freeway of death. It took us about 7 hours to get there when normally it took 2 or less.

Cute SSBB Peach with pan. :D

Bumblebee!

Hiro Mashima! &hearts

:) Susan and I were pretty much hanging on to every word he said.

He drew us Natsu! Damn the girl that won the sketch

Stormtroopers at the Star Wars Clone Wars booth.

Mattel booth I think.

Pikachu!

Creepy haha.

Cool steampunk people.

The girl alien person from the Clone Wars movie.

Me as Joo Dee with inaudibley as Yu Yan Archer at the Nick booth.

From the Ghostbusters game.

From Starship Troopers!! :D I think people aren't that used to actually getting ASKED for pictures at Comic-con so they don't really have poses. I notice a lot of people just sneaking pictures of people in costume.

Mike and Bryan and Joaquin at the Avatar Panel. Awesomeness!

Me with another Joo Dee. :D

Original set from Nightmare Before Christmas. It retails for about $30,000. xD That was all that was at the Disney booth, which was a bit disappointing.
