So I was reading some fic on fanfiction.net... and I found this one: Surprise Me

Sooo... The summary already sounded familiar to me.. it would to all who had read Bokutachi no propeller by DAEN ... and so I read it and know what? It is the dounjinshi written down as text... so I asked her IF she has ever read it.. and she replied this:

That diffidently sounds like that Daen book. I only had to read a little bit to see what you were talking about. :( She certainly sounds like she stole the story from that book.

I hate people like that steal other peoples stuff and the don't give them the credit...>:(

I mean I don't mind if some authors write the story of doujinshis down *but* she told me she had *never* read it before.. I don't know if that is true 'cause I can't look into her computer but.. I mean even the 'hey Bean' is the same...

When it comes to plot, I've learned that there really isn't such an thing as an original idea. I don't read doujin either, so I'd be mildly surprised if someone ever asked me that, too.

I would say that most fanfiction is some kind of original.. I mean there are some that are similar or that the idea of something inside the story is close to another story.. but this one is nearly word for word written down from the doujinshi...

Well another person in my flist was saying how another writer copied another writer in aspects.. We really need to be able to report stuff like this on ffnet >

Yes absolutely.. I mean it's one thing when you forget a disclaimer and when you don't put it on on purpose
