DragonForce concert was just.... wow. Really the most intense show I've ever seen. It was boilingly, hellishly hot in there, but so fantastic. My first mosh pit! (Squee!) The crowd was really into it, and it was some really intense energy. The opening bands were ok; We missed most of the first one, the second one's lead guy had AWESOME several-feet long dyed red hair, and they were an ok, sort of 80's-esque band. The last guy to get up there... was interesting for about half a minute because of his vocal acrobatics, but he was at the wrong concert, totally wrong genre. The crowd pretty much only cheered when he was done because he was finally getting off the stage. After that, there was a problem with the sound, so we had to stand around for a really long time listening to the club's stereo music. That kinda sucked just because we were both so tired that all we could do was lean on each other like zombies. That's when it started getting intensely hot in there. But I guess it worked out for the best because by the time DragonForce came out, we of the crowd were all so worked up by the wait that they got a much livelier welcome than I think they might have expected. The show itself was incredible. You know it's good when you've lost your shoes, you don't care, and you're jumping up and down screaming at the top of your lungs but you can't even tell if any sound is coming out. (I lost my shoes in the mosh pit, and then they miraculously found their way back to me by the end). Everyone in the crowd was soaked in sweat and the water that the band kept throwing from bottles to help cool things down, and jumping and headbanging and dancing and wheeeee!
Oh the band.... they were soooo hot. *___* The lead singer was the epitome of the hot-English-rock-star. Mmmmmm long hair and muscles and omg that accent. I think all of us ladies in the crowd had a moment of perfect joy when he took his shirt off. XD Here are some pictures of them which are not mine (I didn't take any due to camera battery death), so you can appreciate their hair. and hotness.

I think, in the recorded albums, their vocals aren't as good as some of my bigger favorites, but they did better than some at maintaining their sound in the live show. The guitarists were awesome.... I think some highlights were their little mock competition, while they made rude faces at the other's playing and reached over and played each other's guitars, and near the end, all three guitars playing each other's instruments over each other's shoulders. :O I was very impressed. And at the same time the keyboard-ist man had his own little solo work going, which was a remarkable blend of metal with a techno beat, which worked far better than I would have dreamed. It was all just incredibly gorgeous, from their music to their voices to their attitudes to their hair. They were such a good band to see, because I think they really love playing live, and they really appreciated their audience and made an effort to connect. That aspect was kind of lacking in the Sonata Arctica concert I saw last year, which made the difference between the two. That concert was awesome because I love the band, but this concert made me love this band not just because the music was fantastic but because of the energy.
Mah, I had more to say, but it's kind of leaving my head and leaving me in a glorious haze of omfg that was AWESOME. I think my ears are finally recovered, too :D Happy three year's anniversary, love! <3
Three more exams. And that Japanese stuff to do. It's so hard to concentrate. I am full of junk food -____-. (Swedish Fish now makes all sorts of sea animals in different flavors. Hella tasty, for right now my favorite candy) o(_______________________ -__- _________________)o I am this fat.
So.... my laptop still doesn't work, despite replacing the harddrive. I think I will have to see if I can borrow one of my mother's work laptops for the summer, but after that I just don't know, and sell this one for scrap. The problem is is that it's going to become important for me to own a car soon, possibly this summer. So I've got to scrimp and see if I can't afford the first couple of payments on some used thing based on what I make in Georgia, and then try and find some employment when I get back to Charlottesville. It's kind of scary, because if I did get one and had to make all the payments myself, it would be the first time that gainful employment would be immediately and truly essential. So I've got to do some thinking on that, and which purchase needs to be made first. So if I have no computer and no car, and have a need for both..... I will just have to win the lottery, it seems. Oh help.
Immunology go! I've so failed at studying for this. Saints preserve me.
