when yo say "literally", do you mean to say that someone really did put sugar in your gas tank?

sadly, the list you have covers just about everything...

yes, i had freaking sugar in my gas tank. can you imagine? thank gods my neighbor works on cars, i'd been having problems for a while, but no one could figure out why until he noticed the crystals... he said it wasn't much, and he flushed my gas tank, so i think i'm mostly ok now. i can't even be bothered with getting too mad because i'll never know how it happened. some random punk doing some random damage for no damned reason.

come on, cleveland has more to offer than that! i'm thinking tommy's, great lakes brewery, maybe wandering downtown some. we're not looking to spend too much money, so i'm also looking for good suggestions for walking/pictures.

If you don't want to spend too much money, I wouldn't go to the Great Lakes Brewery.

It's not all that expensive to go have some of the best beers in Cleveland, but it is expensive to go sit and eat there.

It is especially a good deal now to go get some Christmas Ale which will knock people on their ass.

There are also tons of bars concentrated in the Tremont area along with cool spots where you may be able to catch an alright band and there are some really small theaters(not movie) over there. Also Christmas Story fans may wish to check out the house where the movie was filmed.

http://www.whirlyballcleveland.com/ Check that out for something I hear is fucking sweet.

Music Saves is a sweet record store by the Beachland(which actually isn't such a bad area during the day).

There is a ton of stuff to do in Cleveland....

I could go on and on about spots for food and drink around the city(definitely check out the Parkview), but I won't. I will just say that Cleveland isn't the deadlands that everyone makes it out to be.

and the food at GLBC is mediocre at best. i do love their beer though.

i would really try to take them to lakeview if the weather permits. especially if you're going to be in coventry already. it's right down the street.

i'm trying to think of some fun things that haven't been mentioned yet but i can't come up with anything.

i agree, the food isn't really good, but the prices aren't bad for the quality of beer. and yes, a few pitchers of the xmas ale will do the job nicely ;)

lakeview is a great idea! we've got some photogs in the group, so i was thinking downtown, the metroparks, etc.

the only thing i could have added (other than restaurants) would be lakeview cemetery.

unless you want me to say the rock and roll hall of fame.

i even looked at threads about cleveland to see other suggestions and i think that just about covers it.

if you have any vegetarians, i would actually recommend the beer engine for their black bean burgers. I'd also recommend El Tango Taqueria, too (except that it is kind of small and if you have more than 6 people, it might put a strain on them). Melt would also be an excellent choice for out-of-towners.

when you go to coventry for big fun and tommy's, you can drink at "la cave du vin".

if they are into record stores, you can take them to my mind's eye or bent crayon.

this place has cheap eats and isn't too far from you:

and it has vegetarian sloppy joe's, veg. reubens, etc.

you can see what's showing at the cinematheque (or the cedar lee).
