Bugs
Today my biology lab wandered around outside with nets to catch bugs. We went down through the parking lots and out onto the nature preserve to find them. It ended up being pretty neat, although I found too many spiders for my taste I did find some neat things. First, I found a few little guys including a slug and a millipede. It turns out it's not a good idea to put them in the same jar, because the millipede decided to make a snack with the slug. I guess being caught was not so bad for him. Later on I found a Praying Mantis. He was feisty and neat and we named him Freddie Krueger. It was a little hot and humid walking through all of the grasses, but overall rewarding.
