Soren sighes to himself as he turns without answering Gene heading to his next class. Through out the next class Soren couldn’t stop thinking of what he should do and what would someone else in his shoes do. He has never been in this situation and didn’t know what to do. All he has been use to is the occasional friend on a military base that he knew would soon depart by either him leaving or them leaving.
“Soren, Soren do you know the answer?” Mr. Derrick was now standing over his desk looking down at him. “Come now Soren daydreaming is no way to get ahead in life. I am surprise you haven’t been chatting up a storm today hope everything is okay.”
Soren sighed and nodded to his teacher, Soren better get his act together or practice isn’t going to be any different after school.
After class Soren was the first to leave the class and was already heading down the hall before any of the other students where out of their chairs. Man, I really have to get my act together. I have to decide on who I am going to go with to the dance or if not to go at all.
As he turned a corner Soren bumped directly into Lani stumbling back a bit. “Watch where you are going Soren, you could really hurt someone.”
Soren regained his posture and sighed, “I’m sorry,” He stopped and stared at Lani.
Lani blinked and replied with a very questioning look, “Umm what are you staring at?”
“I have a question that is just driving me crazy and you are just the person to help me answer it,” Soren grinned.
“Umm, al-lright,” Lani seemed to be very confused by the sudden request.
“Okay now I have a issue on asking someone out. Tried once and seemed to have failed and now I have to fix it soooo,” Soren smirks, “How would you ask a girl to the dance?”
Lani blinked and tilted her head in confusion, “Okay, strange request since I have never asked a girl to a dance,” She chuckled slightly to her self at her own joke, “But okay lets try this ask me as if you where asking her lets see how things will work out, okay?”
Soren nodded and then thought a moment, “Okay then lets go into the gym and do this I feel a bit odd doing this in the hall way.”
Lani agreed and they both headed to the gym as at the same moment Miya noticed the two heading to the gym.
“I wonder what thoughs two are up too?” Miya soon followed suit out of curiosity.
“Alright go ahead and ask the question,” Lani turned to face Soren with a smile.
“Oh, ah alright,” Soren paused a second. After a moment of thought he cleared his throat and stood up straight , “Will you, ah, like to, um, go to the valentine dance with me?”
Lani lofts a brow and stared at Soren, “Umm is that the best you can do?”
Soren sighs, “Come on I don’t ask girls out all the time.”
Lani laughed slightly, “Oh come on you have all the girls going after you, you can’t tell me that?”
“But it is true, I traveled all the time before I came here how was I to ask someone out when that is happening?” Soren seemed a bit irritated, and Lani picked up on that.
“Okay, okay then I will tell you how to do it then,” Lani smirked, “But don’t come crying to me when you still get ditched alright?”
Soren nodded with a grin, “Of course, so come on tell me then.”
Outside the Gym staring in from the glass window to the gym Miya started to watch the two inside. Confused at what was being said since it was hard to hear through a door Miya opened it up slightly to hear.
“Okay then, Soren I would be very happy if you were to except my invitation to the valentine’s dance,” Lani’s voice was heard through the crack.
Miya’s heart sank a bit as she heard.
“That’s great,” Soren was easily heard as it sounded as if he accepted. The door closed shut and Miya walked off yet again on the verge of tears.
