After having seen Tenimyu - Second Service twice today, I have to say that this was probably my favorite musical. It was just so great to see it LIVE and not on some screen where you miss half the stuff that happen on stage because the camera is directed elsewhere. The music, the matches, everything was just soo much better than I expected it to be. And I had some pretty high expectations on this. I'm so glad I bought tickets for three shows. I loved all the actors, but Genki was just... he had his match against Fuji/Aiba and it was sooo great! and long as well! And, well...
...if I was obsessed before seeing the musical, it's nothing compared to now! OOKAWA GENKI is ... is... GAH! I absolutely loved the whole thing, but Genki was just... wow. I seriously can not find words to describe his awesomeness. Amazing seems too flat, but I'm not going to start wax poetically about his hips, even though they sooo deserve it. God, those rolling hips of his... and he got to do it in two different numbers as well! (Thank you Ueshima-god for choreographing that!) And his voice and...
But who surprised me the most was Yanagi's actor, whose name I've completely forgotten right now. He had his whole match against Inui and he was good. Great actually. I didn't put much notice on him in the First Service cause he didn't really do much, but in this one I thought he was great. He really fits to play Yanagi. So now I'm happy 'cause now I love the whole Rikkai-cast. No particular order of them, except that Ookawa is like miles ahead of any of the rest. He's just too cute...
... and while I'm on that subject, I don't think this Genki-obsession is good for me. I saw the musical on both shows today, and I could hardly stop staring at Genki so I missed a lot else that was happening. For the first show I had tickets in the center block, in the aisle, or like, the aisle was right in front of my feet (have no idea what you call those seats in english) so I could see the stage(read:Ookawa Genki) REALLY well. However, on the second show I was so far of to the side that half the stage (read:Ookawa Genki) was behind the speakers, and OF COURSE Genki had to sit as far to the side as possible, so all I could see was his knee. A very lovely knee, which I can now describe in detail *__* Well, perhaps it was a good thing he sat there, cause it kind of made me realise that perhaps I should watch the rest of the show ^_^;;
... the rest of the show meaning staring at the Golden Pairs hands which were quite active and touchy throughout the whole musical. I do so love some Golden Pair action, and it really was a lovely little show they put on. Oh, Takiguchi was probably in fanboy heaven the whole time.. ^_^
... And did I mention Genki's hips?
Oh! oh! And the Higa chuu guys! Haha, they were SCARY! And really tall. Poor Kintarou, they scared him half to death. It was so weird when they came on, cause they were only in the musical in the last few minutes (after all the matches between Rikkai and Seigaku were finished), and then they "played" Rokkaku (though they were only two people from each team there) and had some cool background music. Oh, they sang too. A pretty good song. Actually all the songs in the musical were really good. They even kind of sang "Seigaku no hashira ni nare" which is one of my all time favorite Tenimyu-songs (but only when Kimeru sings it, no offence to Yanagi though. I adore him, but he can NOT sing). But the best song of all was of course Genki's song ^_____^ the "Hey Genius/Bloodshot" was great! And everyone dancing around him, like he finally got the attention he so deserved. He looked so evil and angry and I wanted to hit Aiba/Fuji (not Fuju so much as Aiba though. I love Fuji.) for being mean. Well, okay, Kirihara kind of asked for it with the red eyes-thing and the making Fuji temporarily blind, but still. Show some compassion for our raged little devil, please.
*sigh* I can write about him aaaaaaall night. But I'm not going to. I wasn't even supposed to write this much ^_^; but I needed to fangirl somewhere 'cause my friends are not into Tenimyu (gasp!) and they don't really understand the whole fangirl-thing.
Anyway, I'm going to see the musical for the final time tomorrow morning and I have a great seat (third row, in the middle) so lot's of genki-watching watching all the stuff I missed the last times. When I get home I'll write a better report, heavily focused on Genki, be so sure, if only to help me keep the memory alive until the DVD is released. Oh god I want the DVD...
