"you two want to hang out for awhile?" Carly says, shooting a glance at me.
I resist the urge to look around, i know she's talking to me and nick.
"sure, where at?" i say.
"Well, i don't think i can, i don't have a car."
So just like always...
"dude, i'll drive." i always say.
So, we gather up some more people, Carly's sister 'whats her name', Alica, and... her friend.
Im so bad with names.
on the male side, we have me, nick, matt, and that other kid.
We all run up to applebees, they all order water with lemon and for a moment i can read the waiter's mind,
"shit tips"
20 minutes later and the waiter never came back, so we packed up and walked to steak and shake across the street.
So just like always...
Water with lemon. All around.
I read the waitress mind.
"cheap bastards"
We talk a little, i'm across from alica, she works with me at olive garden so we make small talk.
I couldn't help but notice Carly. Those eyes. Wait, did those eyes just look in this direction? Into mine? is this a "moment?"
So just like always...
I advert my eyes and talk to Alica some more. It was doubtful that she has a thing for me, i let my mind run away with me anyways.
Everyone orders some kind of desert, except for nick, because he's poor.
Just like always.
Alica and her friend leave without paying their porton of the bill.

Now we're all talking in the parking lot. Every car has to go around us because we're all a bunch of asses. The guy to girl ratio has turned 2 to 1...
...and just like always...
...us guys become like vultures.
Carly's sister is a little to young (15) for most of us, so really its 4 to 1.
With odds like that, carly doesn't stand a chance.
We all talk for another hour about nothing.

Then it happens again, a definite prolonged glance from carly. We weren't talking to each other, we were actually in two different conversations, and then the glance. Clear as day.
I'm so full of myself i could pop.

Anyways, the night must end and i have to drive nick home.
In the car he asks...
"so whats the background on them?"
Im not quite sure what he means, but i say.
"i only really know alica and carly, they work at olive garden, the other guys are just guys from tnt."

"i think so." i answer.
"I thought so, she was definitly shooting me some looks." Nick says.

I imagine matt and the other kid driving home, having the same conversation about carly shooting glances at them and what those glances meant. Us guys are such idiots.

i drop nick off, and drive home laughing at the loser that's inside me.
