So the highlight/stress of yesterday was going to present an award in front of an Elementary school....yeah, I know, that shouldn't bother me. But it did all the same. It was a presentation of the Mining Class of the Year award, and it was won by a grade 5 class out in Delta. It's actually the third time I have been out to that particular school, since they have won this award before and also wrote a book that we published. I think I managed to be decent. I think I said um once though.
Other than that yesterday was pretty standard. I ran about checking into catering for a meeting tomorrow and dropped of some materials we had kicking around the office (that belonged to others). Fought with Corporate Courier who managed to completely fuck up on an order I placed (and I had to continue dealing with this morning). I did make some headway on revisions to the SS10 resource, and if all goes well I should have it ready for reprint by the end of the day...then on to the Grade 5 so that we can clear that out and make way for the Grade 7 which is still in the very rough drafting stages. Also, it's time for me to blanket fax-spam the schools with a notice about our summer workshops now that they are finalized. Yay! That should keep me busy for a while until I have to deal with orders at the end of the week. So far the stack isn't bad, but the boss might be holding out on me.
In other news, the Wii is now staying. For anyone not in the know, that was what the consumer whorism post a while back was about. I had planned on returning it or selling it (without gouging), but mom was intrigued. I figure if she is not going to rag on my ass for being financially irresponsibly while I am living with them and not paying rent, than I suppose I can keep it for the greater good of the family (supposedly). Anyways, it's hooked up to the family TV, which kicks ass on my budget LCD any day despite being CRT (but a widescreen, HD one). I taught my mom how to play Wii bowling and played around on the Weather and Internet Channels for a bit, but that's it so far. Right now it's taking all my strength not to run out and buy the HD pro cables so I can run it in 480p - not to mention picking up another Wiimote. But, alas, tour is fast approaching - as I was reminded by our rehearsal last night - and I need to watch moolah if I plan on eating and such.
