Well, 'ere we go again.. Shanna and I are moving. Not like it's a bad thing, as we are moving to a somewhat nicer, cheaper ($300 cheaper to be exact!) apartment. It's a bit smaller, only a one bedroom versus our two bedroom. But the bedroom in the new place is waaay bigger than the master bedroom in the old apartment. Our living room is separate from the dining room, thus giving us more to work with in the living room. Unlike the old apartment it was all one room, we had to separate the areas with one of our couches. The kitchen and the bathrooms are a bit smaller than the old ones, but we don't spend time in either one of those. We also have a bunch of closet space we didn't have before either.
With about the same square footage, the $300 cheaper rent is totally worth it. It's a secured building as well, unlike the old place. So Shanna can rest with ease. We live right off of a major freeway in the Twin Cities, so getting places is convienent. Also directions to get to the new apartment are easier for our out of state friends.
Oh yeah, did I mention that the new apartment is only about 2 miles from the old one? So neither one of us is having to worry about finding the fastest route to work or to the grocery stores.
We have already moved all of our big items and most of our kitchen to the new place. But now, we have to go through everything else and decide whether we are keeping it or throwing it. We aren't planning on taking everything with us, so we have to start the decision making this weekend. We don't want about half the stuff in the new place than we have now at the old apartment. WEEEEEEE. =/ We have until the end of the month to get the old apartment cleaned out for the final inspection, so we have some time (which is nice for a change).
The only problem with our new apartment is the internet. See, as most of you may know, I'm 'borrowing' someone elses wireless internet with our only computer.. Shanna's 1999 Apple iBook. At the new apartment, we can only get a wireless signal from ONE source, and it's password locked. =/ So, until we are all settled in, my finances aren't so jacked up, and we are back on a monthly budget, I won't be online very often. Probally once a week, IF that, when I bring the laptop to a Starbucks or something to check my emails and put any orders through.
Finally, I also will be starting a new job next week. I'll have a steady income, I'll know my hours, and I'll be able to finally get on a budget.
This year is going to be a good year.
