Maybe it's just me, but...

I'm getting really annoyed about my students complaining about something being "hard"...I'm sitting here giving my statistics final right now, and a few of them have been very forthcoming in saying that it is too hard.  They are even upset that the final is not the same order that we covered stuff in class...like Chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, ...  Um, hello people??  Is this thing on?  It's fucking college...get over it!  I probably wouldn't be so irritated about the whole thing, but
  1. The final is open-book, open-notes (including old exams, and the solutions to said exams that I gave them).
  2. I arrived 2 hours early so they could start the exam early if they chose.
  3. I provided them a review sheet last week, consisting of a list of topics that could possibly show up on the final, and a litany of problems that they could use to practice...I later e-mailed them the answers to said review sheet.
  4. I purposely had the review sheet out beside me when I wrote the final so that I made sure I stayed on the list of topics, and chose problems similar to problems I gave them on the review sheet.
I could keep going, but you get the idea.  As Peter Griffin would say, that's what really "grinds my gears."  You know, when I was a student in college, I know that I used to complain about stuff too...but I sure as hell hope that it wasn't when stuff was handed to me on a platter, as sometimes I do for my students (like I did with this)...

Damn I wish someone would bring me a sandwich...

school, work, students
