Queen of Camp
This past weekend was sooo much fun!!!
We went camping at Myles Standish State Forest Park by Plymouth. There were five families altogether, so it was loads of fun. All of the kids had someone in their age group to hang out with, so that made it very convenient.
We got there Friday afternoon. It was a surprise bday party for Shredi, who turned 9. That was followed by a cake fight - Shruti and I got each other good! :) Cleaned up, ate, danced, ate, danced... That night was so hot. After everyone settled down in their tent, Shruti and I went to our tent and stayed up and talked til 1:30am. It was so hard to fall asleep that night because of the heat. Every 20 minutes, we turned to each other and were like, 'I hate this heat' or 'Are you asleep yet?'. So, we got less than 3 hours of sleep that night - good times! ;)
Saturday was mostly spent at the beach by our camping ground. We spent almost 6 hours there. It was soooo hot that day. Time flew by because the water was so comfortable. When it came time to leave the water around 5pm, everyone was all burnt or tanned. Then we played Throwball for a little bit before heading back to the camp. We ate, sorta danced, and then the adults played Dumb Charades. Fun stuff.
Sunday was packing day. We took down the tents and just hung around and ate some more (all we do - eat!). Before we left, people were chosen for King, Queen, Prince and Princess of the camping trip. I was selected for Queen. Woot! I got a candy dish. :)
The whole trip was lots of fun, even though it was really hot all three days. It was soo funny - the authorities of the park had to visit our camping area 4 times the whole trip. Whoops! :/ Twice on Friday night because we were too loud after 10pm, once on Saturday night for noise again, and a fourth time on Saturday night to take away all of the parents' alcohol. Shruti and I went to the bathroom and came back and heard what had happened. haha.
Next year, we're thinking of going to Maine for camping again. That would be lots of fun.
Anywayz, I'm all updated with my life now. :) OMG! I can't wait to go back to UMass - which means the packing must start sometime soon. Mmmm... I wish there was a way to just skip the packing part. I want to go back, but I also feel that these past few months have flown by too quickly. I feel like I haven't hung out with enough people before heading back. Everyone is so busy with summer plans or work or whatever. It's going to be hard adjusting back to school all over again - no family, classes, dorm lifestyle, certain people, certain issues with those people remaining from last semester, etc. Hopefully some people have matured over the summer. We'll see...
