Great Moments in Doofusness
Lately I've been asking friends who've had iPhones before me if they've set up Gmail using the default Mail app. No one had done it, and most theorized that it couldn't be done properly.
But this evening I decided to Google it and, lo and behold, it's dead freakin' simple. Months of wondering about it and feeling sad that it's not possible for nothing. I'm such a doofus sometimes -- no wonder I'm not CTO. ;-)
For the record, not only does it easily interface with Gmail via IMAP, but also iPhone Mail also has the ability to move deleted and sent items to their proper place on Gmail's server at the right time. So I have a true mirror of my Gmail on my phone now, and that's really exciting (to me).
