I woke up rarin' to go! I don't know why but I'm gonna ride it wherever it takes me today.
Maybe it was re-watching last night the excellent "Father's Day" Doctor Who episode from 2005. I laughed, I cried (again). I decided that watching that episode would be my nod to Father's Day this year.
More likely it was the dream I had.
I wrote down the only plot points I remembered upon awakening:
- multi-continental bus tour
- Africa-centered world map
- stopover in European town, either Belgian or rural French
- leaving the tour at the stopover hotel (medical facility?) at dawn/dusk, in a rolling desk chair (?!?)
- exploring a narrow shopping passage, no tourists but with English-speaking shopkeepers
- talking with a guy at the clothes cleaners
- passing a shop with Jack Black DVDs and European graphic novels on display
- ending up at a brick interior cafe with cakes and filled croissants, and asking what was in the croissants
- picking a croissant with blueberry in it, or a blueberry/cheese mix
- joking with the cute young female behind the counter ("we never get a copy of the program", "Ayn Rand!")
- complaining that I don't have any Euros yet, so paying in dollars
- it starting to rain outside and me with no umbrella
Gotta love dreamin'...
