Dead Week!

I can't stress how good Thanksgiving Break was! It really took a lot of pressure off my chest, and provided me some well needed morale. The day before leaving I had a sinking feeling in my stomach, like I was going to be sick...it's weird how the gorge clings to you like that...

Anyways, the 5 1/2 hour drive back was fine, except for the nasty burn I obtained from a fast food grilled chicken burger I had purchased. I bit into it, and hot grease ran down my face, neck and onto my chest leaving a nasty trail of 2nd degree burns...it's slowly fading, but damn I was pissed! On a better note, the WSU campus is completely covered in snow. Today it rained and then froze, so there is a thick layer of ice covering the knee deep, white, wonderland. This has given me plenty of reading time: I've finished The Illustrated Man (Ray Bradbury), and have almost completed Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix...next on my list: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

I went to work out at the Rec Center yesterday which was great, but getting there was a hassel. Not to mention, today going into the liquor store parking lot a truck pulled out into traffic, clearly unaware of the oncoming traffic, slammed on his brakes, slid into the road and almost slammed into another truck, which would have collided with us. A police car, right behind the truck flashed on his lights and pulled his dumb ass over...what a dumb fuck. But trying to maintain balance, and at least one foot on the ground at all times has proven quite a challenge over the past few days...so I can understand his error. But looking forward to a night of drunken bliss!

Next week is dead week, then finals, and then Christmas Vacation for three weeks! Horray! And I believe my GPA has jumped from 3.4 to 3.6 so I'm pretty pumped about that. I just can't wait to get out of here. Especially since I have to perform a piece in front of the Woodwind Faculty to determine if I get another scholarship. I asked this girl I have a chrush on in my theory class to accompany me, and she said "yes" which made me extremely happy...now not to suck in front of her and embarass myself:)

Some bad news...the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is not coming to Portland over break! This broke my heart, I really wanted to go again! But I was named Principal Bassoonist for the WSU Wind Symphony which was awesome! I was acknowledged at our concert and everything...it was awesome! Anyways...I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again! I'm so homesick! I just hope the ride home goes safe and all. LOL...Peace Nigs!
