Any and all of those opportunities sound fabulous.I personally would probably head to Europe just because I want to go there. My nephew graduates from Olathe North in May and just received a sizable music scholarship from Baker.I was trying to get him to look at William Jewell, which I was surprised has such a highly rated Fine Arts program. Best of luck to you! If you are ever back in KC,you will have to come to an alumnae meeting.
My piano teacher for several years is actually a professor at William Jewell (I was born in Liberty and lived there for for 7 years) William Jewell is quickly getting up there... if your nephew is looking at other music schools in KC, look at UMKC's conservatory, it's starting to get international recognition. I'm coming back to KC for a while until I figure out what I'm doing next year. Let me know when they are, and I will for sure drop by.
PS - do you know Kathy Warner? she's one of my HS friends' mom, and is my official A-phi mom
I know this is probably NOT an entirley positive thought... But maybe you didn't pass the exam and will have to wait another semseter, giving you a second chance to apply to schools...
I'm sure everthing will work out one way or another and life will be great! :-)
Hey Janice, this is Michelle Lewis. I just wanted to leave you a little note to say I know exactly what you're going through. I'm not sure if you know, but a similar thing happened to me at exactly this time last year. I got rejected by the school I thought I was going to (they had all but officially offered me a TA position and then at the last minute decided that they didn't have enough room in their lab) and I was left not knowing what the heck I was gonna do. Well, through a series of semi random events, I ended up with a research assistantship and I'm in Florida!! So sometimes things really do work out for the better, even if it looks dismal at the time. By the way, I think you got over the shock much sooner than I did - - it took about a week of crying and self-doubt. A friend of mine (coincidentally an A-Phi) gave me a bottle of vodka and 3 bags of assorted chocolate candies and let me say that helped a lot!! :) Good luck with everything!!!
