what gives?!

So today after step forward day (school-wide service day), I decided to be good and practice for an hour or so. Here I am, sitting in this tiny practice room (which I had unwittingly locked my keys in, and had to ask for keys from Kathy Thomas-Grant, the director of the musical who was rehearsing with some guy) I'm playing the Bach Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, and trying to learn it as fast as I can in order to have it prepared for my auditions that are coming up... All of a sudden, someone knocks on my door. Not that it's that uncommon of an occurance, but it's a saturday when everyone is out having fun... I open the door to find a theater girl standing leaning against the door frame. Thinking that she was asking for keys to get into a practice room, I go to grab my keys, but then she starts talking...

Her: Hey... Do you have work-study?
Me: ummmm.... no
Her: Do you want some?
Me: Huh!? (very confused
Her: Well, we're looking for another accompanist to help out with the musical, and I was wondering if you were interested...
Me: What do you need me to do?
Her: You'd just come to rehearsals and be our rehearsal pianist and work with soloists and stuff... we'd pay you of course...
Me: And when would you like me to start?
Her: Oh... probably this wednesday if you can
Me: Tell you what, come back to me in 2 weeks, and my schedule will be much freer
Her: Ok, well my name is Victoria, and my number and everything is on the call board
Me: you call me...
Her: Ok.....

And with that, I shut the door and continued my fugalizing.

SO RANDOM!!!!
Honestly, who else do you know goes into a practice room in an empty music building on a Saturday afternoon, and is offered a job just because some random person heard them playing?

With that, Shenaya is taking me to Disney Land tomorrow morning because her little sis gave us complimentary tickets. Should be interesting, especially when I have 2 meetings to lead and a candle passing to conduct all tomorrow night... we will be back early afternoon though... just going for the morning.

Good night everyone, pleasant dreams!
