It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday

My car's odometer rolled over 200,000 miles last week, and this weekend we're starting to look for a new vehicle.

Our old car is nothing all that special, really. Just a 1999 Hyundai Tiberon, red and sporty, two doors.  Even so, we've been through a lot together, and knowing it's quickly approaching the end of the road makes me a little sad. This car took my wife and I on our honeymoon, carried me an hour and a half each way to college every weekday for 3 years, and brought home each of my 3 children from the hospital.  It's hard not to feel an attachment to something that was there for so many happy memories.

I really hope she lasts me another 100,000 miles. I'll try my best. But the check engine light is almost always on, and she sputters out at intersections more and more.  It isn't hard to imagine the end is near for her.

Thank you, little red car. You've been a constant companion and are a credit to the ingenutiy of the Korean people.

(salutes)
