Yes, of course. ...Well, unless you're a well-known villainous figure or something?

Nope, not a villain. Definitely not a villain.

Just a new guy looking to find himself a job, is all.

Then you'd be considered! We all were new to the City once.

Are you Chrono? I could stop by in person, if that's better. I'm just not really sure how to get anywhere that's not the fountain, so far.

Yes, I'm Chrono. Nice to meet you, by the way. What's your name?

Over the Network is fine, if that's what you're comfortable with.

Teddy. Teddy Altman. Nice to meet you too. Are you one of the bakers? Or maybe a friend of Rosey's -- if that's actually a person the bakery's named after?

I can do my best. And if it turns out to be a disaster-in-the-making, I can see what I can do about getting myself to that address sometime this week. Sound like a plan?

Teddy? Like the president? Oh, yes, I'm the owner. Rosey's--well, Rosette's my girlfriend.

Sure, sounds good. So, what position are you interested in?

Yup, just like the president -- or the stuffed animal -- take your pick.

And that's as good a name as any for a bakery. Does she bake too? I bet she's real proud of you, huh? Opening up a business isn't a small thing to do.

[ A thoughtful pause. ] Well, I'd be lying if I said I knew how to bake. But I can operate a cash register and I've been told I'm kinda good with people? But I definitely do cleaning up too.

Both sound like good things to share a name with!

Ah...no, no, she doesn't really bake. But she taste tests! I hope she's proud of me. ...Hm, no, I'm pretty sure she is.

Hmm...well, maybe I can interview you for both? And if you seem like you'd work well in both, I can maybe have you on the registers. I probably need that the most.
So...let's see. What sort of questions do people normally ask at job interviews? Do you have any previous work experience? And...what skills do you have that you think would help you the most? I know you already mentioned that you're good with people.

I believe it, she's gotta be. I mean -- she's got a bakery named after her now and everything. How could she not be proud of you, man?

If by 'work experience' you mean, have I ever worked a proper job before, unfortunately I haven't. I was still going to school -- sort of -- and between that and my night job, I didn't have a lot of time for anything else. Most of my experience is with doing stuff like rescuing folks from burning buildings and hitting bad guys in the face. And something tells me that's not gonna help run a cash register, but it builds character?

But I do know the meaning of responsibility! It kind of comes with the superhero territory. And if we ever get deliveries or shipments in, I'm really really strong, so nobody'd ever have to worry about that stuff.

[he chuckles] I guess that's true. But it still hasn't opened yet, so it's still a little up in the air about how well it'll do. ........No that I don't have confidence in it! I'm sure it'll be fine!

Superhero? ...Wow. No, I agree, that helps build character. Particularly responsibility, like you said. After experience like that, working as a cashier might seem a little boring!

Hey, you've just got to do the best you can, right? Just as long as you're taking everybody's advice and not sticking a total noob on the ovens, I'm sure it'll go great.

[ A little laugh. ] I'll admit, high school was sort of a drag compared to the whole superhero-ing gig. But I was able to make time for both back at home, so I figure a job and trying to help folks on the side shouldn't be too too hard. Besides, we've all got to make a living somehow, right? And the rent's not gonna pay itself.

I certainly hope so. Noob?

Yeah. While we're here, we just have to learn how to live in the City. It sounds like you're a hard working person.

Um...let's see. What else? Uh, okay. What about...what's something that you think might make your job difficult, and how do you think you could work through it?

Noob. Short for newbie? It's essentially what you call anybody who's never done XYZ before. So, in this case, sticking somebody on the ovens that's never baked before.

I'll be honest, I enjoy a good slack when I can get one. Nothing's greater than getting to sleep in, but. You can't get anything for nothing, right? It's gotta be earned.

As for what make my job difficult... [ Thinks about this a second. ] ...Sometimes I can have a bit of a temper. Which means if some guy waltzes into the store that I've got problem is, I might not have the easiest time smiling and playing nice. But like I said before, a responsibility's a responsibility. I owe it to my roommates to bring in money. I owe it to my boss to not get my ass fired. So I guess I'd have to work through it by reminding me of that kind of stuff, or -- if that doesn't work -- excusing myself for a minute. Something like that.

Oh that! Yes, I'll make sure to avoid that.

I think most people are like that. I'm the same way. But it seems like you have a good attitude about it.

I certainly can't hold that against him...I'm the same way. And his solution seems really fair... I see. I think that'd be a good way to handle yourself if that sort of situation happened.

You seem like a very honest person. And a hard worker. I need to check with the other manager first, but I'm very interested in your application.
