...Demons, they call us. Monsters, here to carry away their women and burn their homes to the ground. They tell stories of savage beasts formed as men, seducing innocents away from their mothers and fathers, using them until there's nothing left. I wonder how they'd react if they knew how many of us walk among them, buy food from their stalls and sell them their crafts? A "demon" may be renting your fields--we may even be your landlords. I know there are some of us that do the crimes we've been accused of; indeed, my own brother...but I have no use for their easily seduced, "innocent" children.
Nay, that's dishonest--I have no use for them, but one.
Rosette...she haunts every moment in which I am not with her. Her eyes are pools of water for my soul, dying of thirst. Her hair is woven gold, her skin white as marble, her laugh music composed by gods...
She's a human, and not only that, a hunter of my people. She's forbidden to me, and yet that's no deterrent for me. No, I think it makes me desire her even more. I would climb a mountain to pick her a single flower if she wished it of me, I'd sell myself into slavery for one moment of her lips against mine...I'd curse my soul to a thousand lifetimes in Hell for one night in her bed.
I'm alone now...my sister might be gone for long enough that I can risk one more visit with her...

And so, our lives move on in this strange City. And there seems to be a lot of confusion on these journals of ours. People saying we're living our lives "wrong" or whispers of curses--but don't you think you're worrying too much about what society thinks of you? You can't grasp true freedom until you allow yourself to follow your deepest desires. Why shouldn't we behave this way?
But, as long as nobody disturbs me or my dear sister, I have no quibble with you. Babble on about curses all you wish.

Basic plot: Chrono and Akiha are demon siblings, Rosette and Shiki are siblings in a demon-hunting family that fight them. But Chrono is having an illict affair with Rosette behind the scenes, and unknown to him, his "sister" is ALSO secretly carrying on a romance with his most hated enemy! What will happen to these two pairs of lovers torn apart by blood and society? Will love conquer all? Just where is that mysterious wind blowing around Chrono's hair and open shirt coming from? How badly will Chrono flip out at midnight??? Stay tuned!
