I wanted to know about your upper body strength because
mcduff and I have different ideas about how fit most people are. He was never sufficiently impressed at my latest chin-up figure, the bastard, but we talking about The Krypton Factor and got something I could do an informal poll about.
McDuff thinks that while women generally can't do a chin-up without training, most men can, even nerdy guys who don't excercise.
I think that most people can't manage a single chin-up without training.
I added my answer and one from a boy I asked off-LJ. That makes 11 men and 16 women.
4 men (36%) can't do one.
1 man (9%) can do one but couldn't before training.
4 men (36%) can, and could without training.
2 men (18%) can, and didn't say if they needed to train up to it.
11 women (69%) can't do one.
1 women (6%) can do one but couldn't before training.
3 women (19%) can, and could without training.
1 women (6%) can, and didn't say if she needed to train up to it.
That's 45-63% of men who couldn't do a pull-up without training. I'm going to call that as in between and say we were both wrong.
