Postcards from the edge.

A postcard, arriving entirely by magical means - although mundane would have served equally well - landed in the box labeled neatly with the name "Hino, Rei" in the cheery postal center of St. Catherine's School For Girls. It was dog-eared and covered with postmarks, having traveled through a variety of postal services before being 'ported into its recipient's box.

Scrawled across it, in spare, clean kanji written in a strong, almost masculine hand, was the following message:

Rei,

I'm sending this from Tokyo. I'm about to take the Shinkansen up to Morioka, where that priest you helped me find is going to pick me up and take me to that wilderness retreat. I'm not really sure what's going to happen, sensei was kind of vague about the training, but I think I'll be standing under waterfalls and sleeping outside and stuff like that. I hope you and everybody back at St. Cat's are happy and having fun with summer term. Say hi to all the girls and I'll see you in about a month!

XXOO

Utena

(OOC: This postcard was sent right before Utena departed for her special training retreat, but took until that month was almost over to actually arrive, meaning that she'll be returning in a few days!)
