Miss Elms Goes to Washington
Washington, DC was fun on Saturday, although it took us about 6 hours to get here. We left late (some time around 1) and stopped for lunch and then the traffic was almost unbearable. When we got there I had to use the potty desparately and we couldn't find a public restroom anywhere! It was horrible. We were asking around and one time Shawn's mom goes "... my daughter-in-law needs a bathroom." LOL. I thought that was amusing. We saw all the nifty monuments and whatnot. I don't even know what a couple of them were classified as, so I'm not going to try to list them all. I, personally, liked the war memorials and the Lincoln thingamajig. Memorial? Monument? I don't know. On the way home, we stopped for dindin at Applebee's, which is why we got back so late. I got home at 1:40 and had to wake up early the next morning for church. I'm still tired. Children's church was so much fun yesterday. We taught them the "Wise Old King" song and my thighs are stinkin' sore. Yes, I know I'm out of shape. And... Chè's back! SHAZAYWOO! I am SO happy. Can you see me smiling? Oh man.. we did our heart surgery for the kids at New Hope Hightstown Church of God (that's the one across the street from my house) last night and it was interesting to say the least. The kids were loud and rowdy and ok, I'm going to say this, annoying. The adults definitely got more out of it than the kids did. My friend Danielle is moving. Well, she already left by now. She was my best friend in elementary and middle school. And now she's going all the way to Las Vegas. I said goodbye last night and I didn't think I'd be that sad because we haven't been as close the past several years, but it sure was sad. I'm going to miss her. Shawn and his family are coming over for dinner tonight. I have to help clean up around the house, so I better eat and shower quickly. Toodaloo.
