News: Halloween

Any student watching the news or reading the newspaper will find a report regarding the events of last night: the local police office was bombed, killing most everyone inside; reports of dead officers throughout the city, some with horrible burns, others stabbed or beaten; also, reports of dead children in their costumes, killed in much the same way as the officers. A few were hospitalised, but most were not so lucky. Surviving witnesses claim to have seen a gang of mutant boys -- energy mutations, mostly -- in surrounding areas. Mourning families are quick to blame the 'mutant menace'.
In the coming days any student going 'outside' who displays his/her powers or has an obvious mutation is likely going to be subject to a greater amount of open harassment / prejudice than usual.
