Summary: Kamio and Saeki spar a bit.

The woods behind the school were relatively flat, though hardly free of obstacles. Trees jutted up at odd angles -- some offkilter from explosions of various…natures, others rigid in the pale moonlight. Their roots were tangled masses, slithering across paths unkempt and probably more of a danger to the redhead moving swiftly among them.

Though not the greatest danger.

But that was made it exciting. Kamio came to halt, breathing harshly and eyes darting at the shadows around him. He couldn't hear anything -- having gotten to a point where his iPod was no longer required to time his movements with, and this was good. Moving at the speeds he did, his vision was blurred at best still. He had to rely on his other senses, and running in the night helped him get a better handle on them. Though this wasn't an exercise for his sake alone; he thought that he could hear his pursuer close by, the rustling of underbrush as the tiger that was also his boyfriend stalked him.

Sucking in a breath through his teeth, Kamio stilled as much as he could handle. It was partly a game between, hunter and hunted, and partly a chance for his lover to get out and stretch his less familiar form.

His voice was soft on the night air, a barely hissed, "Babe…?"

Saeki could hear Kamio's voice, very close by, but oh, no, responding would be telling his red-haired lover where he was, and that wouldn't do.  Holding himself very still, he eyed the other, then looked everywhere else around Kamio, not letting his eyes settle on the other's form too long, in case the other felt he was being watched.

He could hear Kamio's breath, and he stilled, the rustling minimal, and attributable more to the wind than him now.  The redhead was within pouncing distance ... three ... two ... one ...

Saeki pounced, aiming to knock his lover off his feet.

Kamio knew his lover was there…somewhere, but beyond that vague assumption, he couldn't sense the other close by.  The redhead frowned, head swiveling around and body turning quick, little circles.  Despite his attempts to guard his back, he only barely caught the white form leaping towards him, spun and darted to the side fast enough that the tiger hit the ground instead of him.

"Fuck," the redhead hissed.  That had been close.  He took a step back, body tense and eyes narrow.  "Kou, babe," he murmured, a grin cracking his lips.  "Looks like ya found me, babe."

Dang, missed him.  Saeki turned quickly, a feral grin on his tiger features.  "Shouldn't have said my name, luv, that helped me zoom in."  He paced a little, tail flicking, eyes on his redheaded lover; if Kamio ran, and he missed the direction the redhead took off in, he'd be in for another hell of a hunt until he tracked the redhead down again, and his sense of smell wasn't quite something he was that good at tracking with.  Then again, maybe he _should_ let Kamio disappear and try to track him down with smell alone ...

Licking his canine teeth, Saeki smirked as only a tiger could smirk.  "Wanna go again, or can I jump ya?"  Melee, or another chase?  Both would be very exciting, and Kamio was a wonderful prey--fast, hard to catch, and put up a great fight when you _did_ catch him.

"Hn," the redhead snorted.  "Could have been referring to Yuu, ya know."  The teasing tone was subtle, but easily understood, as he watched the large white form pace back and forth in front of him.  He'd been staying just beyond the tiger's reach for a good hour this evening, and though the effort didn't tire him, Kamio could still feel the exhertion, the adreline coursing through his body and giving him the slightest, constant shake.

He was used to it, though.

Giving the tiger a smirk of his own,  the redhead settled into a crouch.  He could easily take off, dart in a direction, then double back like he'd done before.  But running only burnt off so much of his enegry, and he was more interested in pressing his luck and skill against the tigerish form before him.

"When don't I want you to jump me, babe?" he teased further.

Did tigers laugh?  Well, Saeki in tiger form did, a low chuckled purr, the best he could manage.  "Yuu-chan must have gotten new powers while I was asleep--hadn't thought invisibility was one of them before," he teased back.  Kamio was _just_ out of easy reach, but if he suddenly stretched out, would he be able to pin his lover down at last?

Then Kamio crouched down, and Saeki's grin widened.  Ah.

"Good point," he said, and without further ado, leaped at Kamio.

Kamio saw his error a moment to late, the tiger already mid air when he shot backwards.  It was a short move, bringing him barely out from under Saeki's large paws.  It wasn't that Saeki could catch him, per se -- however, as Kamio was well aware, his lover could use the fact that while moving at higher, Kamio's vision blurred considerably, to his advantage.

At least he was getting better control over his attention span.

"Hn.  Nice try, babe," he smirked, testing the uneven ground behind him with his foot.  "Gotta be faster."  He didn't manage to get more out, though, as the tiger was at him again and Kamio found himself cutting to one side, then another to dodge the other as he advanced.

Saeki smirked.  "Oh really?"  Another pounce, which Kamio dodged again--sideways, always sideways, but the redhead was backing up.  Out of the corner of his eye, Saeki spotted a large tree.  A-ha.

"Can't be as fast as you, luv," Saeki said, and pounced again, just a little too far to the left, which meant Kamio would be dodging right ... oh, perfect, one couldn't ask for anything more perfect than the position Kamio was in right now.  The second pounce followed the first, straight into Kamio's face, and as the redhead backed up, his back hit the tree, and with an 'oof' Saeki had pinned Kamio to it.

Grinning at Kamio, Saeki licked the redhead's nose with his tongue.  Purring, he asked, "Better?"

Kamio cursed under his breath, the tree pressed against his back -- and tiger right in front of him.  Saeki was on his hind legs, his front paws holding Kamio's shoulders to the tree trunk as his tongue swept out and across the redhead's nose.

Kamio crinkled it in response, his expression a mix of chargin and amusement.

"Much better, babe."  He leaned forward, laying a quick kiss on the tiger's nose, then smirked and twisted his hips enough to swiftly raise a leg.  One firm kick -- enough to knock the breath from the tiger for a moment -- gave him the space he needed to drop down to the ground, slipped from between his lover and tree trunk. Then off to side.  Smirking, almost smug, the redhead flipped his hair aside and licked his lips.

He'd never said he was going to play fair, after all.

Kamio settled down into a defensive posture, fists raised and smiling challenging.  "Ready to spar for a bit, Kou?" he murmured, feeling a bit edgy.  It had been one thing to fight his lover when the other had been only able to stay in human form, trapped half-way betweeen tiger and teen.  Clawed fingers were dangerous, but utimately, only struck with the same force as a normal humans; against a tiger, the force of the strike was significantly increased, not to mention the body mass.

Oh, that really wasn't fair.  Saeki grinned, once he regained his breath.  "I'll get you back for that one later, Red."  Back on all fours now, he watched the redhead carefully, admiring the smile even as he grinned and stretched, ready to spar.

This was the first time they'd sparred with Saeki in full tiger form, Saeki realized.  He refused to hurt Kamio, but in sparring, one had to fight as if they meant it.  Poised for a strike, Saeki said, "We're only going to do this until I draw first blood, Red."  Then he was off, launching himself at the redhead he loved.

Kamio smirked and stayed still as his larger, feline oppenant came at him, fist shooting up just as the tiger was upon him and clipping the other's jaw.  The next punch was dodged, the white cat twisting just out of his reach enough that the redhead had to slow down and turn his body to follow Saeki's movements.  It left a momentary opening that his lover exploited and one massive paw swiped across Kamio's side.

That knocked the redhead to the ground, though Kamio simply rolled with the fall and scrambled to his feet, eyes narrow as he sized up the tiger again.  Another charge, his speed not fast enough to blind him completely this time, and another intricate pattern of hits and blocks.  As one attacked, the other dodged.

It was strange fighting Saeki in this form.  He had advantages that Kamio had never had to deal with before, larger size and an even more fluid body among them.  Minutes passed without the redhead noticing them, focused entirely, as he was, on the fight.  They'd both be bruised by the time they were done.  Breathless too, but it was worthwhile practice for them.

The sky darkened as they continued trading blows, though Kamio managed to duck and block those that would draw blood.  Finally, however, one paw blindsided the redhead and Kamio didn't shift back quick enough to avoid getting nicked.

The punch to the jaw had certainly hurt, but Saeki returned it with the swipe to Kamio's side.  It both relieved and vexed him that Kamio merely rolled away and sprang up--he'd have to aim better instead of merely swiping.  A grin, and then he was dodging Kamio's attacks--block, thrust, dodge, sidestep, block, counterattack, dodge.

Saeki was getting increasingly comfortable in this form.  It was lithe and flexible, and much stronger than he could ever hope to be as a human.  He was bruised, and he was sure Kamio was too, but man, this was so much fun.  The practice was well worth the days of soreness that were coming.

Kamio had been dodging him all night, but suddenly Saeki saw an opening and went for it.  The smell of blood and the sight of something dark oozing out of a line on pale skin told him he'd finally struck home.  He had drawn blood.  "Gotcha, babe."

The redhead took a step back, back of his knuckles absently sweeping over the small nick.  He pulled his hand so he could sort of see the darker line on his pale flesh, though the sky was dark now and Kamio's eyes were nowhere near as good as Saeki's.  "I'll have to take your word for it, babe," he confessed, squatting down next to the large, white tiger.

One hand sought the top of Saeki's head, fingers scratching lightly between his ears.  "You're getting better at fighting in this form, Kou," Kamio murmured, proud -- as always -- of his lover's ability to adapt.  Then added, with a teasing smirk, "You gonna kiss it and make it better now?"

"Heh," Saeki purred, stretching a little as he nuzzled like a cat (well, he _was_ a big cat) against Kamio.  "Gonna take a raincheck on that, babe.  This damned form tires me out when fighting."  Maybe he just needed to eat more meat--they'd have to look into that in the next grocery run.

Stretching a little, Saeki nipped lightly at Kamio's legs, then butted him lightly.  "Come on, Red.  Race ya to the showers and bed."

saeki, kamio
