Summary: Kippei checks on the injured Shinji...

Shinji just couldn't believ Kippei was mad at him. It wasn't his fult that guy was touvching him. Okay maybe he was flirting just a tiny bit. That doesn't mean he can touch him. He put the computer off and waited for Kippei to come. Damn that eye hurts. He didn't understand why the guy hit him anyway when he told him no. Just get a life and find another guy you can flirt with, maybe he'll let you touch him. That's what he did. Well last time he didn't do that anymore. He wasn't flirting with just everybody anymore. If he did Kippei would never like him.

He started to make some tea. Tea is good when you are thirsty and he was!

While the ex-school teacher, now clarinetist did understand why Shinji had acted the way he did, this didn't mean he'd condone his best friend's violent behavior. Clearly, he had given the other man pretty much what he wanted, falling in game of "I'll hurt you if you don't do what I want you to do"...

Still, he'd give Shinji the chance to fully explain himself. It was only fair to do such a thing. So, still carrying his clarinet with him, the older man tentatively placed his hand on the door of Shinji's hotel room, and was surprised to see it was open...

Shinji mumbled about everything that was wrong while walking with his tea to the couch. He then saw Kippei standing in the door post and nodded. "Come in. Do you want tea?" Not waiting for an answer he walked to the little kitchen again and poured some tea in a cup.

And tehn it came. "I can't believe you blame me for what happened. That other guy started with the violence... I just told him to stop touching me... That's all.. Guess he couldn't take that and hit me.. then I gave him a kick in the shin.. I didn't even start.."

"It doesn't matter who started or not," the older man said, not even blinking, as he took the cup Shinji offered to him. "More than blaming you, I didn't think you'd fall in his game, doing what he wanted. I've seen such cases many times in the night life of Nagasaki, and none of them ended up nicely; from mere black eyes to hospitalization... you can imagine."

Thank God Kippei was wearing a long-sleeved shirt; the knife scar he had on his left arm, adquired many years ago as he defended his school friends from abusive upperclassmen, was a daily reminder of his deep hatred for violence. One that increased after he learnt what Jackson did to both his father and his half-sister.

"It's not like I'm enjoying it alright. I had to do something or he would've probably done it again." Shinji said down on the couch and motioned Kippei should sit too. "What should I have done then? Just walk away? That doesn't work here, Kippei. They'll keep on doing this till you show them to stop." he looked at the ex teacher slightly. "I don't really like to fight." He mumbled more to himself.

"Violence bring only more violence," the other man replied quietly but firmly, sitting down next to his friend. "A punch will bring up another, then there's few between you people and either shooting or stabbing, and it just won't stop. Even Japan, one of the safest countries in the world, has its share of such things... and I hate it as much as you do, if not even more."

Shinji looked at Kippei and smiled a little bit. "We can always colour my other eye too and then I can say I'm cosplaying as panda bear." He said joking a bit about it. He leaned more into Kippei and placed his head on his shoulder. "It hurts you know."

"Of course it's gonna hurt. You're the one who got a black eye, and all because you went temporarily stupid and replied to an even bigger moron's provocations. And you got quite a light deal, compared to other people around the world." But Kippei was saying it in a lighter voice tone, letting Shinji know that he wasn't as upset as in the first minutes. Still not thrilled, yeah, but it was useless to remain upset by now.

"I only siad stop touching me.. I guess you would've said that as well.. If somebody was touching you all the time right?" He leaned in more since he didn't hear Kippei objecting. "So if you wre me you probably had a black eye as well.. maybe you wouldn't have hit him back though.. I think it's rather childish to hit somebody only because one syas 'stop touching me.' If you told me to stop touching you.. I would stop and do something else, not hit you in the face,," Shinji mumbled. He thought about the first meeting and smiled a litlle bit. He still thought Kippei was absolutely gorgous. He smells good too.

"The temptation to use violence as a defense is strong. I would've told him to stop and then leave, not giving him a chance to reply... besides, I doubt that he'd like to hit a guy who generally walks around with not only his clarinet, but with a big travel bag. Those bags hurt when they hit, and I usually only need to flash mine to make them stop. You should try it sometimes."

He didn't say anything when Shinji leaned against his shoulder, letting him be. His body tensed just a little; it was more of an alert than being disgusted or angry... he did still trust Shinji's promise to stop if he ever said a word asking for it.

Shinji grinned a litle bit. "I can totally understand that.. Wouldn't want to hit that either. Hmm maybe you should just come with me if i'm going out again.. Nothing would happen then either." He said it, like a joke but kinda meant it too. He would like to have Kippei with him all the time. "If you are there they would hit on you not me."

Kippei smiled a little at his friend. "Who knows. It'd depend on who's there, more than anything, and I doubt I'd do much about that unless they go too pushy on me. I've been hit on by girls and guys since I was in highschool, so..."

"Have you ever dated guys before? Or only girls?" Shinji asked and looked up at the clarinetist, nuzzling his cheek while doing that. He wanted to know how far he could go without Kippei telling him no. "If you don't want to tell you should just say that you know... but it is important information.. If you have it would mean that my chances ae a bit higher." He smiled a little bit.

He found he could relax more when he was with Kippei, he liked to be with him and showed more expressions when he was.

"Mostly girls, as I told you before. I only dated a guy once, during college; didn't work... not because of us being men or anything else... It simply wasn't the moment, I suppose, since it was the time I was about to start my practice."

His body tensed a little more as Shinji just pushed the physical limits of their physical contact. Kippei just wasn't intrested into anything by now, his priorities being learning more about his estranged relatives and securing his position in the Orchestra. He didn't want to lie to Shinji, to use his obvious feelings for him in any way that would needlessly hurt the younger man...

He looked down at the other man, sternly but still not angry. Though it was clear he was starting to get impatient, and soon would be rather irritated...

No, Shinji. Stop, now. Please. Don't start hurting yourself.

He understood clearly that he was going to far when Kippei looked at him sternly. And he promised he would stop if Kippei woukd want that, so that's what he did. But he was a little bit hurt already. Clearly he wasn't interested in him now and he wondered if Kippei would ever be. If he just knew why, cause he didn't think it was only about securing his spot in the orchestra. He didn't want the other man to know he already kinda felt rejected, so he smiled a little smile.

He stood up with a little sigh. "Can I get you another drink?"

"I'd reallt thank you if you could," the clarinetist said.

Kippei hadn't missed the hurt look in Shinji's eyes, but he knew (or thought he did) it was for the best. It was alreayd bad to hide his identity from his sister and workmates, but adding an unnecessary and cruel lie to his arsenal was simply something he'd never do...

"What would you like?" He asked looking at Kippei and poured another cup of tea for himself. He took a box of cookies out of a cabin and placed it on the table. "Help yourself. Real Australian cookies."

Shinji suddenly remembered he promised to visit his mother. He didn't really wanted to though. She really wanted to forget her past and that's what happened. She forgot about his sister and him. She could only remember her first husband, Shinji's father. He didn't mind she forgot about hsi step-father. That was good.

"I need to visit my mother today, before we'll leave Sidney.." He mumbled.

Kippei didn't take any cookies or tea... the sudden change of Shinji's expression said everything. Much as he still missed his deceased mother, at least she was resting in peace according to the Japanese religious beliefs, and the same went to his father; he couldn't even imagine what it was like to have a mother who closed herself to practically everything in her life.

He wanted to ask Shinji if it would be okay to come along, but he felt it'd be very rude. Still, Shinji looked sincerely depressed about the deal...

"Kippei.." Shinji whispered. "I don't like to go alone.. Would you.." Shinji shook his head. "Ah never mind you probably have other things to do.." Shinji really didn't like to go alone, cause it hurts when his mother doesn't remember him.

Shinji send Kippei a small smile. "You should drink your tea otr it gets cold. Tea's not nice when it's cold.. I don't like it when it get's cold.. i always throw it away, but if I'm with friends I don't then I always drink it cause it's rude to throw away something... Even though it's sometimes really gross I still drink it."

"If I had other things to do, Shinji, I would hardly be here, listening to your rambling," was the othe rman's reply. "I had just finished my practice, anyway, so it's fine to go with you."

Out of politeness, he took his cup and drank its contents. When Shinji was done with his own cup, Kippei placed the cups on the nearby table; the cookies stayed in the plate. Kippei had the feelings that they'd taste better later, when they really needed something sweet to wash away the bitter taste of the upcoming visit off their mids.
