ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? akalillyn January 13 2010, 07:53:02 UTC
:D Don't worry about it, it totally made sense. Okay, not at first because no one ever really expects a nonlinear plot, but with some thinking, it totally worked out. I loved it.

Okay, starting from the beginning. haha Hiei and the coffee and the cake. Frustratingly enough, the still-browning cake didn't disappear. It even had the audacity to continue cooking. That was an incredibly funny and adorable line. This whole scene, actually, was pretty adorable. Hiei, in his confusion, finds a cake when all he really wants is to find coffee. And how strange and out of place is that? Hiei, looking for coffee! But you totally made it work, like the fanon Hiei+icecream thing everyone has going on, but you have coffee. haha I loved that. I just didn't realize that Hiei was actually standing on the stove until the next scene. Somehow, I thought he was standing on the floor, but after reading it again, it made sense because otherwise, how would he have felt the heat from the floor? Yeah. Smart me. I also love that he actually ran away. That also made me laugh because hello, sign of guilt much?

I really like how calm and collected your Kurama is, even when annoyed/irritated. I like that he doesn't worry too much, even when Hiei disappears for extended periods of time, because that's exactly how I think Kurama should be. And AWWW, Hiei took off his shoes. Another AWWW moment. You have a lot of these coming up, by the way. haha and Kurama is so calm (again) and calculating. He made certain that the sheets fell around his waist when he moved, showing that he was naked from the middle up. UNF. Yeah. That's exactly what he would do.

Their interaction and dialogue. I just need to say one big, huge, effing, YES. This works for me on so many levels. hahaha I just absolutely love the flow of their dialogue. It just shows how much they know one another that they can talk like this, and I love how you can get into their heads so well. Also, this whole scene where they talk while in bed? Absolutely sweet. A very quiet scene, even with all the talking, and it was so perfect, but then the morning after? Completely sweet and Kurama keeps taunting Hiei and it's so sweet. I really like how you have these two scenes that normally go together, like the cuddling after sex along with the morning after without the actual sex. It's warm, and serene, and damn it, I think I'm going to run out of adjectives soon, as well as space. hahaha so that took me forever to type. THE NEXT PART IS COMING TOMORROW I GUESS.

♥ ♥ ♥

MY HEART WASN'T QUITE PREPARED, AND NOW IT IS MELTED.

Seriously, though, thank you SO MUCH for such in-depth feedback. In particular, I cannot stress enough how pleased I am by your observation about these two scenes that normally go together, like the cuddling after sex along with the morning after without the actual sex, because that. That is totally what I was going for; an exploration of the fact that, while they're obviously both aware of their sexual needs, the kind of relationship they're engaged in is nevertheless not defined by those needs, but rather by their need for one another as individuals. I'm also extremely glad that the quiet tone came through. :D

Also also, I find it hysterical that you brought up the fanon ice cream thing, as that opening scene is basically my not-so-subtle backlash against that trope, based on the fact that coffee is the only thing we actually see Hiei consume in canon (episode 27, in the hotel room. We never actually see him sip, but I think that's more a frame budget limitation than anything. Incidentally, we also are given to understand in this scene that Hiei is so short that when sitting on the couch his feet barely touch the ground, but I digress).

so my computer has been wonky as of late, and I decide to type out the rest of my review on notepad. I don't know what I was thinking, seeing as how notepad doesn't save things when my computer crashes. So my awesome review of awesomeness (in length only lol) is gone. I AM SO SAD. SAD SAD SAD.

SO YOU WILL GET THE REST AT A LATER TIME. AM SO SORRY. ;_;

but yay, I am happy your heart is melted. :] and I didn't remember that about canon! THANK YOU FOR BRINGING IT TO MY ATTENTION! LES GASP. HAHA and awww how cute. Short Hiei is short. I'd say more, but I'm sure that I'm going to repeat it in my ongoing lengthy review anyway. :[ ILY. hahahaha Thank you again! Reviewing it in depth gives me a chance to re-read it again and again and enjoy it even more, which I do. ♥

BTW I LIKE THE SHUICHI DANCE OF JOY. HAHAHA. you has cute icons. :]

I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. D: D: D: Just knowing that there was an awesome review of awesomeness is amazingly joyful to me, but nevertheless, computers shutting down and destroying great undertakings are tremendously depressing. (Ask my sisters what a pathetic balls of tears I turned into the one time I lost a whole half a chapter of something. IT WASN'T PRETTY.)

But take all the time you need! As always, the notion that you've enjoyed ineracting with the story (a lot! :D) is the best thing I could have hoped for. I'm just sitting here blushing at how much time you've invested in it already. I am so happy to have made somebody else happy. :)

Also, Gravitation is my happy place. ♥ If I could somehow have Shuuichi and his burning passion for life tattooed across the very fabric of my soul, I totally would.
