An huffed slightly as she pulled on her scarf tighter, she had just woken up and was already late to meet her brother. Grinning she swung her bag lightly as she walked, she was sure that he was going to love his present, running down the last pair of stairs she pushed open the door and sucked in her breath. It was really cold outside and her teeth began to chatter, maybe she should have worn a thicker jacket, no time to change that, Spotting her brother she called his name before running up to him. “Sorry I’m late; it’s hard getting up for me you know.” She laughed.
Kippei chuckled. The morning was a little chilly, yes, but it wasn't bad, as he was dressed properly. He reached out a hand to pat his sister's head. He wasn't allowed to ruffle it anymore, she would've definitely thrown a fit over it. "I know. Let's get going, what on earth are you wearing, aren't you cold?" He raised his eyebrows at the girl's skirt.
She rolled her eyes, she didn’t like it when he did that but let it slide, he was her brother after all. Blinking down at her skirt she laughed, “I just grabbed whatever and put it on, I did a pretty good job of matching everything, and yeah just a bit.” She rubbed her arm and remembered the present she had in her other hand, pulling the bag up she placed it in his arms “This is for you, Merry Christmas.” She smiled.
Christmas present? Kippei's eyebrows stayed up. Then again, An was the kind to be into this Western stuff. He smiled. Silly little sisters were what kept the world going around. Kippei places the bag so it wasn't in the way and grabbed his sister into a bear hug. "Thanks, sis. You gotta wait for your present till New Years though."
An grinned and hugged him back, “I don’t mind.” She already knew that, her brother really wasn’t into the whole Christmas thing. On the other hand An found it cute. Pulling away from the hug, she smiled. “I got a present you know, some really pretty tulips, but the card didn’t say from who it was though. The card just said thanks for your help.” She tapped her cheek and brushed it off, she could figure out later who it was. “Ready to go?”
"You did? That's nice." Kippei nodded and they started walking to the Shrine, where they'd meet the Chitoses. It was like a family meeting or something, without the parents, heh. "I got a present too." From an anonymous source. An embarrassing gift at that. Today was zen, however. Nothing offended him or shocked him or made him angry.
She walked with him, almost skipping as she walked, after all she was happy, her brother was probably happy to but you would never see him skipping, she shook her head at the though of her brother skipping with a big goofy grin on his face, “hmmm, from Chitose-nii-san?” She blinked and she gave him a questing look.
Kippei grimaced slightly. Damn, he hoped not. "If it was from Senri, he's going to hear about it," he threatened lightly. Surely it wasn't. Senri had a weird sense of humour, but this was something he'd expect from Niou or something. "Let's ask him." Unknowingly he had a wicked look on his face, as he wasn't keeping up his poker face.
Her brother didn’t look happy when she said that. “Did he get you something weird?” Probably did but that was almost normal from him, she nodded at Kippei and frowned they were almost to the steps, she sighed she hated walking up them.
"Still cold?" Kippei asked, seeing that his sister wasn't happy about something. He hoped it didn't have anything to do with what he'd said, again.
“Just a bit, but I think I’ll warm up once we start walking up those evil steps, so don’t worry.” She smiled at him and grabbed his arm, “Well let’s go stop being so slow.”
Kippei chuckled, then shrugged off his coat, putting around her shoulders. "Give it back when you don't need it anymore." He took her hand and started walking up the stairs without any hurry.
At the new weight on her shoulder she pouted up at Kippei, “Oniii-chann, your going to get cold, I’ll be fine without it,” She was cold but she didn’t want to bother her brother, her fault for putting on a skirt and a not so thick jacket.
"I won't. I don't really need it, you know." Kippei didn't get cold easily. Maybe it was because he exercised regularly. Or maybe he had that strange holy fire burning in him, that he had sometimes been accused of. "Besides, you'll give it back when you're not cold anymore."
“Fine.” She huffed pulling the coat closer to her, it was heavy and it passed her knees. Her brother was just so much bigger then her. Looking to her sides she noticed all the white. “It sure snowed a lot last night.”
"It did." Kippei enjoyed the view around them, walking up the stairs with even steps. He breathed deep. It smelled like snow. Pure, somehow. "Mom probably wants us to call her later."
She smiled thoughtfully, she did miss her Mom, the last time she saw her was for the play and that had been really nice. “Yeah we should, she’ll get worried if we don’t call her once and a while.”
"Yeah..." He fell silent, just enjoying his sister's company ad the snow. The chilly feeling was worse now, but he didn't show it. It wasn't that bad. They could already see the end of the stairs. Soon he could ask Senri if he'd really been the one to give him such an embarrassing present.
She breathed deeply, there was a small tinge of red in her face, it was cold and hot, she couldn’t figure out which one she really felt. Looking from her feet up, she grinned, “Finally we’re almost there.” She ducked her head as if she was going to get hit by something, she was almost sure of Miyuki up there with some snowballs.
Height difference between them made Kippei the easier target. Of course, he had no idea that Senri's little sister might be aiming for them and so, Kippei didn't duck.
