When: Today in the afternoon(I think)
Rating: PG
Comments: Teasing Sanada is very fun ^^ Now I see why Niou likes it so much.  And there isn't any Yukimura/Sanada, at least I don't think there is... Oh and Yukimura is better now, if you couldn't tell.

Sanada made his way down to the tennis courts, rather set to train by himself for a while before Yukimura showed up. He wasn't sure where exactly this party was being held, and nor did he particularly care. He stopped at the courts, picked one and put his tennis bag down on one of the benches. Sanada adjusted his cap and pulled out a tennis racket and a ball, walking out of the courts and over to a practice wall which he began to hit the ball against. He wondered idly how long Yukimura would take to arrive.

Having gotten back from wishing Yagyuu a happy birthday, Yukimura grabbed his tennis bag from his room and went to the tennis courts, knowing Sanada had probably been there for awhile. In a light jog, Yukimura quickly reached his destination and spotted Sanada warming up against the wall.
"Sanada," He said, smiling, "You're early."

Sanada caught the ball as Yukimura approached him, turning around to look at him. "You're earlier than I expected too." He had thought Yukimura would stay a little longer at the party. "How was it?"

"I didn't stay for long, as it was a bit too...crowded for my tastes," Yukimura answered, taking out his racket and starting to stretch. Since he expected the game to be a long one, it wouldn't do to not warm up before playing.

He nodded at Yukimura's answer. That was understandable. After all, Niou had invited pretty much everyone at the camp. Sanada bounced the tennis ball on his racquet for a moment before turning and hitting it against the wall again. He had stretched before coming down to the courts, and would stretch a bit more after a few more strokes. If they were going to play the 5-set match, then Sanada should make sure he was in the top condition before the match.

Yukimura, doing his own exercises, wondered how much Sanada had improved. He expected the game would probably last even longer than last time, as Sanada had gained some muscle and had probably been working on some special moves too.

"Are you all healthy now?" Sanada asked suddenly as he started stretching. He wouldn't want to play Yukimura if the other was sick in any way. Because any points he won wouldn't be truly won.

"Yes," Yukimura answered. He understood why Sanada had asked, since, if he was sick, it wouldn't be a "fair" game.
"I have nearly completely recovered."

Sanada nodded again. "That's good." Aside from the fact that he wanted a "fair" game against Yukimura, he also didn't enjoy it when Yukimura was sick. "How much longer do you think you need for warming up?" He thought that he was nearly done at this point, but he could wait if Yukimura needed more time.

"A few minutes, I think, should do it," He said, picking up his racket and doing some swings. He didn't need to do much running, since he'd done some that morning.
After a few minutes, he dropped his arm and motioned to Sanada.

"Shall we start?" He asked, moving to one side of the court.

Sanada followed Yukimura onto the court, stopping at his bag to get a few more balls out. He went on the opposite side of the net to Yukimura. "Smooth or rough?"

"Rough," Yukimura answered, watching the racket carefully.

Sanada spun the racket and waited till it fell, looking at the end. "Smooth. My serve." He pocketed two of the balls and gently hit the others down to his end of the court. "Let's begin." He turned and walked towards his end of the court.

Yukimura watched Sanada go to his side of the court and got into position. Hopefully he'd be in for a very fun game.

Sanada turned to face Yukimura from the baseline, waiting until he was ready and bounced the first tennis ball a few times against the ground. He shifted his feet slightly, tossing the ball into the air and serving, moving to hit to ball as Yukimura returned it.

Returning the ball easily, waiting to see what Sanada would do. He was probably being tested at the moment, but that was okay, since he was also testing his opponent.

Sanada hit the ball with a backhand down the line, moving forward towards the net.

Seeing Sanada approaching the net, Yukimura hit the ball to the back left corner of his court and quickly ran up to the net. Sanada was holding back some of his strength. Perhaps he'd have to.. persuade the other boy to play harder.

He quickly changed his course as Yukimura hit the ball to the back of the court, feeling quite glad of his increased leg muscles. Sanada returned the ball, hitting it cross-court.

Lunging for the ball and lobbing it lightly into the air, Yukimura watched to see if Sanada would take the bait.

Sanada's eyes narrowed, seeing the lobbed ball and got into the proper stance. He jumped up, turned slightly and smashed it back. "Invade like Fire." He was well aware that Yukimura was able to return his techniques, however Sanada had gotten a fair bit stronger since he had last played Yukimura and perhaps Rikkai's captain was not aware of the difference it had made to his techniques.

Seeing Sanada get into position for Ka, Yukimura got into his own position to return it. Sanada had more strength now, so it would be harder than ever to return it. He had also been training and improving, and there was a move he'd wanted to try out for awhile...Getting into the position for one of Fuji's counters, the Higuma Ootoshi Yukimura returned Sanada's smash, if not as gracefully as most of his moves, since this was the first time he'd tried it against someone with as good a smash as Sanada's.

Sanada landed on the ground after the smash as Yukimura used Fuji's Higuma Otoshi to return Ka. His eyes widened and he ran to the back of the court to try and return it. He had to hit an under-the-leg shot, and hissed when it hit the net and fell back onto his side. "Love-15"

(AFTER THE END OF THE GAME)

Yukimura smiled calmly. The game, of course, was going to be a good one, if what he'd seen so far was any example.

Sanada gritted his teeth as the final ball of the match rolled towards him. The defeat had been expected, but he had somewhat hoped that in a 5-set match, he would have been able to give Yukimura more of a challenge. Sanada walked up to the net and held out his hand to shake Yukimura's, even though all he really wanted to do was go have a long hot bath to relax his muscles. "Thank you for the game."

Shaking Sanada's hand, Yukimura reached up to wipe the sweat off his face. "Good game," He said happily. Sanada had been a tougher challenge than he used to be, and he was all sweaty now. It would be nice to go have a shower, but first, he needed to talk to Sanada, who was looking a bit disappointed. "Sanada, what's wrong?"

Sanada took of his cap and wiped his forehead, frowning at Yukimura's question. "I just hoped I would have provided you more of a challenge than normal." And considering that he had only managed to take one set in total from the captain and had only been able to take it up to 4 sets out of the 5, he didn't consider it to be that satisfactory.

"You were a wonderful challenge!" Yukimura protested, "I wouldn't have been able to beat you if I hadn't gone full out. Not many people can say that they can make me go full out for an entire game."

His expression lightened somewhat at Yukimura's words. "That's good to know." Sanada said, his grip on his tennis racquet tightening slightly. "What are you planning on doing now?" ... how long had they been playing, anyway?

"I'm not sure," Yukimura said, looking up at the sky, it was just beginning to get dark, "I think, before anything else, I'll be having a shower," He continued, stripping off his sweat-soaked shirt. It was not very comfortable to have your shirt sticking to your body, after all. And it was pretty hot, after all that exercise.

Sanada nodded, wandering over to his tennis bag and putting his racket away. "I was thinking of going to the hot springs and relaxing for a while. You're welcome to join me." He turned to look at Yukimura and raised his eyebrows seeing the other male was now topless. He looked away quickly though, turning back to zip up his tennis bag.

Yukimura smiled, "I think a trip to the hot springs would be lovely," He answered, putting his racket carefully in his racket bag and cleaning up his stuff a bit.
Getting to his feet, he looked at Sanada, "I'll have to make a quick stop by my room, if that's alright with you."

Sanada nodded when Yukimura spoke, taking extra care to make sure that the zip on his bag was done up completely. "Do you want me to come as well?" he asked over his shoulder, standing up straight and picking up his bag.

"If you don't mind," Yukimura said, heading in the direction of his room.

Sanada followed Yukimura, focusing more on trying not to stare at Yukimura's back and think that he needed more sunlight. Hence, their trip to Yukimura's room was very quiet, and Sanada spent most of it looking either straight ahead or away from his companion. When they reached the room, he waited patiently at the door as Yukimura went in.

Quickly unlocking the door and putting his tennis bag in it's place, Yukimura went to grab towels for himself and put his shirt in a basket that he was currently using for dirty laundry. Eyeing the basket, he decided he'd have laundry day pretty soon. Choosing not to put on another shirt, he left the room, closing the door behind him and looking at Sanada.

"Shall we go by your room as well," He asked, putting his towel on his neck for the moment and taking some time to put his hair in a short pony tail to get it out of his face.

"Yes." Going to his room would be nice since he wouldn't have to take his tennis bag to the hot springs. They walked through the corridors, and Sanada went into his room, putting his tennis bag on his bed, taking his cap off and putting it on top of the bag before going to the cupboard and rummaging around for a towel. He exited his room fairly quickly and nodded at Yukimura. "I'm ready to go."

Heading to the hot springs with Sanada, Yukimura reflected on how little time he'd been spending with his former Fukubuchou. First he'd been sick and then Sanada and Niou had had a fight and Sanada had...retreated into himself. They definitely needed to do this again. Aside from Yanagi, who wasn't currently here, Sanada was his best friend.

Finally reaching the hot springs, Yukimura quickly removed the rest of his clothes and put on a towel, letting Sanada do the same before entering the spring.

Sanada sighed as he hopped into the water, feeling like he could be perfectly happy just staying here for the rest of the day. The muscles he had pushed to the limit during the tennis match would probably appreciate it too. "This is nice." It was very quiet here too, which was always an added bonus.

"Yes it is," Yukimura responded, sighing in contentment, "I hadn't been to the springs until now."

"Me either." He moved around slightly in the water. Sanada laced his fingers together and stretched his arms out in front of him, making a noise in contentment. He let his arms fall down and looked at Yukimura. "All of Rikkai is nearly here. I am curious as to what is taking Yanagi so long." He would have thought the data master would have been one of the first here. After all, the camp provided excellent opportunity to gain data on all the players.

"I believe he had some family matters to take care of," Yukimura said, stirring the water around him slightly, "And Jackal said he would be coming soon, I'm not sure what's been taking so long."

Sanada nodded at Yukimura's words. "At least there are enough of us to train together efficiently." Of course, even if there were just two of them, Sanada would still expect there to be some form of training amongst the former Rikkai regulars.

"Indeed. I'm sure Niou is out of practice still though," Yukimura responded, his thoughts closely matching Sanada's.

Sanada's lips thinned at the mention of Niou. He didn't like thinking about that trickster. "Hmm..." he said in ways of a reply.

Yukimura sighed. He sensed that he had toughed on a nerve.

"I'm sorry, Sanada. What did you do as training after I left?" He asked as a way of changing the subject.

"It's fine." He said shortly. He was quite relieved at the change in topic, and the new topic was something that seemed quite easy to talk about. "I stuck to my usual training schedule. Except I spent more time with the ball machines and went swimming more often."

"Hmmm," Yukimura said, "How much have you increased your weights?"

"During that time, I didn't increase them much, since I didn't think swimming with too heavy weights would be wise." He stopped for a moment to think. "However at the camp, I have followed the training schedule's weights."

"That's a good point," Yukimura said, smiling, "Perhaps we could play again sometime? It's nice to spend time with my best friend every once in awhile," Yukimura continued wistfully.

He nodded in agreement to the suggestion that they play a match again sometime. That would be nice. Despite the fact that it had resulted in his defeat, it had also been the most taxing match he had played in quite a while. Sanada looked Yukimura in surprise at his next comment though. Best... friend? He knew that he and Yukimura were close, but had never really stopped to consider exactly what sort of relationship they had. "... yes it is." he said eventually.

Yukimura smiled. Sanada and Yanagi were his closest friends, so what else could they be but his best friends? He relaxed happily in the water. The match with Sanada had been very tiring, although he was at loath to admit it.

Sanada allowed himself to relax more in the water, closing his eyes and just sitting there quietly. It was enjoyable to just spend some quiet time with someone who didn't expect him to be his scary fukubuchou self all the time.
