Who: Oshitari Kenya and Oshitari Yuushi
What: Kenya tells Yuushi all about his winter break.
Where: Kenya's room
When: Monday 17th
Rating: PG

Kenya sat on the edge of his bed with a small frown, staring at the multiple boxes that now contained all his various pairs of shoes. All 184 pairs of them. A hand rested on top of the iguana at his side. "It just doesn't feel right, Gogo," he murmured, staring at a box that was emptier than it should be. "At least these ones are safe..."

Yuushi had not liked Kenya's comment about making it back in time. What the heck did that mean? Two weeks late to school? Why on earth would Kenya not have been in class on the 9th? Knowing deep down something bad had happened-a Kenya 6th sense, Yuushi hurried from his room to his cousins, only pausing to knock on the door.

"It's unlocked," Kenya called, glancing back over his shoulder at the door. He never locked the door when Hiyoshi was out. He stopped up from his bed to close up the last open box of his shoes and checking to make sure they were all neatly stacked out of the way.

Yuushi flung the door opened and blinked. Bloody Hell, did Kenya have all his shoes here? He blinked around the room at large before turning to catch Kenya's eyes. "What the heck...?"

The moment Kenya saw his cousin he couldn't help a smile. "Yuushi~!" He grinned, moving to hug his cousin. He'd missed him so much.

Yuushi wrapped his arms around Kenya almost on autopilot. What were all the shoes doing here? Kenya would never do that! It didn't make any sense..

Kenya didn't say anything for a moment, just curling his fingers into his cousin's shirt. "... I'm glad you're back..."

"Wh...What happened....?" Yuushi stuttered out, his accent mixed with English notes.

"..." Kenya clung tighter to him and buried his face into his Yuushi's neck. "...D-Dad..."

Yuushi couldn't help but stiffen when he heard the other's words, and rubbed Kenya's back, holding him close. "What did Uncle do...?" He was almost afraid to ask.

Kenya opened his mouth to speak but words caught in his throat. Instead, he pulled away and reached under his bed, pulling out a shoe box and threw it onto his bed. The lid of it bounced off, the box revealed to be empty. ".... The pair you gave me for my last birthday," he managed to get out in a murmur.

The bluenette blinked as his cousin was suddenly not in his arms anymore, but watched silently as a box was pulled from under the bed. "That's the pair I..." His mouth shut as he heard Kenya talk. He tried to put the pieces together-but there were some obvious missing pieces. "Are...they gone?"

For a moment, all Kenya could do was nod, not once looking away from the shoe box on his bed. "....burned," He finally managed to say, his voice barely a whisper.

Burned. Yuushi blinked once, and than again. "On...accident?" He asked, voice shaky. No, he wouldn't...But....would he?

Kenya glanced at his cousin then back at the box. "I went home for New Years," he said quietly as he moved the box back under his bed. "Afterwards, I wasn't allowed to leave. I tried to sneak out and... he caught me. Made sure I didn't try it again..."

"Uncle? But...I don't understand. Why...why would he do that? Are you alright? Did he let you come back for classes?" His eyes frantically took in the other's appearance, trying to see if he was healthy.

"He hates this place," He gave a slight laugh. "It's ruining his life plans for me. I'm not learning anything here, apparently. Too much mucking and playing around with stupid things like tennis and running. And 'Kashi... " He sighed. "'Kashi completely ruins his plans of me having a 'happy family'."

Yuushi frowned. Uncle had always been a bit...harsh about Kenya's dreams, and unrealistic about what Kenya could not do. But...."Ya-chan....I'm so sorry. I wish I was here for you and not stuck in stupid England...Don't worry about anything....I'm here now." He murmured softly, trying to re-assure them both.

Kenya moved back towards his cousin and wrapped his arms around him again. He buried his face into his shoulder. "Don't go again, Yuu-chan," he murmured. "... Buchou and Niou got me out..."

"If I go, you come too." He promised against the other's hair. "I'll have to thank them for taking care of my Kenya-chan while I was away....and I think I'll have to have a word with Uncle." Or more than one work...

"'Kashi, too," He clenched his hands into Yuushi's shirt. "He's been looking after me since I got back."

"He's your boyfriend. It's his job." Yuushi replied, hands tightening against his younger cousin.

Kenya just nodded, his body shaking a little as he tried to keep himself from crying. He couldn't help it, though, and tears fell from his eyes and straight onto Yuushi's shirt.

"It's okay, Ya-chan. You were so brave, you've done so well by yourself....but Yuu-chan is here now. It's okay to cry. Let it out." He whispered, shifting them so they could curl up on Kenya's bed together.

Once they were lying down, Kenya curled into Yuushi and did as he was told, letting it out and not trying to hold back the tears anymore.

Yuushi was seething. Uncle was going to pay. And each tear he felt against his shirt, Yuushi's plan grew, fueled by the raw emotions his cousin was having to suffer through. "Don't worry, Ya-chan. Yuu-chan is here now...."

"I know..." Kenya sniffled and pulled back a bit to wipe at his eyes. "I know you are..." He breathed out shakily and leaned his head against his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't here before though. God,Kenya....I'm so sorry." He felt so guilty. Uncle always behaved when he was around-Yuushi was a good influence on Kenya, everyone said.

Kenya shook his head slowly. "Not your fault," he breathed and lifted one hand into his cousin's hair. "You couldn't help it..."

"I could have helped you...I'm so sorry, Kenya-chan. I wish I was there..." He whispered, trailing his hand up so he could touch the other's tear-stained cheek.

"I wish you were too..." He leaned into the hand and closed his eyes. "But it's okay now..."

"I'll make it okay, Ya-chan. I swear to you." Yuushi tried to keep his body relaxed and not tense, but he felt like his whole body was on fire. How could Uncle do this..?

Kenya gave a slight smile. He kept his eyes closed and lifted a hand to hold the back of the hand on his cheek. "Thank you, Yuu-chan..." he murmured. "Will you... stay?"

"Until you kick me out." Yuushi whispered, reaching up with his free hand to run his fingers through Kenya's hair.

"I'm not going to do that," he moved his head onto his cousin's shoulder and grabbed a tight hold of his hand. "I need you here."

Shifting to hold his younger cousin against him, he nodded. "I'm here for you. Always. You should have called, should have texted. Why didn't your mom at least, if you didn't have your phone...I'm so sorry. I'm here now, and Uncle is never gonna harm you again."

"I know..." Kenya wrapped his other arm to wrap around Yuushi tightly. "I know I should've... I-I..." He trailed off, eyes squeezing shut as his body shook and he began crying again, face pressed into his cousin's shirt.

"It's okay. It's over now, and I'm here. I'll never leave you again, Ya-chan. " He kissed the other's hair as he held him tightly, rubbing his back with the hand not held by Kenya.

Kenya nodded and gave a sniffle but didn't reply. He just held tightly to his cousin's shirt and continued to cry. He hated crying, he really did, but when it was Yuushi, he felt better about it. Not a lot, but at least enough that he didn't mind just letting it all out. Because he trusted Yuushi more than he trusted anyone else in the world.

Yuushi laid there, holding and offering comfort to his cousin as he silently thought of a plan. Unlce needed to pay for this. To hurt and be scared like Kenya had. And...he had the perfect way to go about that-and, to make sure Kenya woudn't be hurt like this again. No, Kenya's father would pay a price, having messed with Yuushi's Kenya-chan. He just needed to re-read that file he had hidden in an old book. And call his grandma.
