What: Renji makes a phone call and finds out a bit of what's going on around him...and kind of wishes he hadn't.

Renji: *was intending to call someone else, but somehow ends up calling Niou instead*
Niou: *he's just being lazy in his own room when his phone rings. checks the caller and then aswers* Hello?
Renji: *realizes his mistake, but sees a chance here* Hello. Are you enjoying being home?
Niou: Not really, it's rather dull... *confused at why Renji would be calling him, but oh well* Where are you?
Renji: Still at camp. I won't be leaving for my own holidays until Thursday. I thought maybe I'd give everyone that used to go to Rikkai a call just to catch up with everyone.
Niou: Ah... that's good from time to time.
Renji: I thought it was a good idea. Though I must admit, you're the first person I've actually managed to contact.
Niou: And how many did you try before me?
Renji: Just Seiichi and Genichirou. Which seems rather odd, honestly.
Niou: Ah... aren't they both still there? *at least he hadn't heard Sanada would be at home yet... though he might have just easily missed that*
Renji: I haven't seen them around lately. Perhaps they're just busy with last minute holiday tasks.
Niou: Ah... yeah. Maybe they are.
Renji: *shrugs, even if Niou can't see it* I must say, I've been curious. It seems Genichirou has become...a rather good friend of yours.
Niou: ... *he became quiet for a minute there* Ah, really? You should see him when he makes me run laps, still.
Renji: Oh?
Niou: Yeah. *another quiet moment* Me and Sanada... it's rather complicated.
Renji: Oh? How complicated?
Niou: ... how much do you know about Sanada?
Renji: I wish I could say quite a bit like I used to, but...unfortunately, that's not so true these days

Renji: I do know about that.
Niou: Well, then it's easy...
Renji: ....I'm afraid I'm not exactly following your logic here.
Niou: If you know about Sanada's family, then it's easy for me to say I'm part of that circle.
Renji: *blinks*....why?
Niou: Uh... I wanted to join them?
Renji: ....*shakes his head* You are strange. Why would you want to join a Yakuza family?
Niou: It seemed interesting.
Renji: ....Interesting. *pinches the bridge of his nose with his fingers* If I knew you better, I'd say you're lying, but....I know you're not.
Niou: Well, I'd tell you to confirm the facts from Sanada himself.
Renji: Trust me, I'm planning on it. *sighs*
Niou: ... you guys haven't talked much recently, I take it?
Renji: No, we haven't.
Niou: He's been rather stressed lately. I'm kinda something to blame on.
Renji: What did you do?
Niou: ... *another silence* Was a dick to Echizen.
Renji: ...Well, that certainly explains some things. Might I ask why you did that?
Niou: I was... jealous.
Renji: Jealous? Of what?
Niou: All the attention Sanada was giving Echizen...
Renji: Ah. I think I can sympathize with that point. However, do you see me threatening anyone that I might be jealous of?

Renji: I must say, I honestly didn't think you had it in you to do something like that. However, I won't lecture any further than that.
Niou: Ah... yeah. *sighs* I was beaten up about it anyway.
Renji: .....Well, I assume it..somewhat taught you a lesson?

Renji: *coughs* Well, perhaps not then.
Niou: But after I saw how hurt Sanada was, I let it be...
Renji: Ah. Well, at least that was something
Niou: Yeah... I'm not going near Echizen again.
Renji: That...might be a wise idea. He's not been himself lately.
Niou: Yeah... not at all. *sighs* ¨You know... I'm kinda glad we're able to talk.
Renji: Oh? Might I ask why?
Niou: I don't know. I miss Rikkai?
Renji: *smiles a little and tries not laugh* I'll accept that answer.
Niou: Heh. ... *hears footsteps from outside the room* I think dinner's ready.
Renji: Then I suppose I should be letting you go so you can enjoy your dinner
Niou: Yeah. Good luck with catching the other teammates for a talk.
Renji: Do me a small favor, if you happen to speak to Genichirou soon. Tell him to give me a call if I haven't reached him first?
