Log: Teaching a teacher

Oct 07, 2008 04:33

Who: Ta-Ta-TACHIBANA! and Ryoga-sensei.
What: Tachibana out for the kill.
Where: In a dark corridor.
Rating: Dunno, Violence and Bad Language.
When: Tonight!
Comments: Tachibana found out and he didn't like it. Laying ground rules for a teacher. Oh, and we cleared up this fact in this one:

Once Tachibana Kippei made up his mind, there was no way to bend his will. He left Kajimoto to sleep and left the room quietly.

Ryoga... well. He might have been a flirt, but he wasn't cruel; if sharing a room with him was truly that uncomfortable to An, he was going to do his best to stay out of her way. But, well, he needed to sleep somewhere, too, and a bed was so much more comfortable than the corridor.

Once Tachibana got to the fourth floor, and found the right door, he knocked on it sharply. This had to be sorted out now.

"Yes?" Ryoga called out, turning to look at the door. Who knew, it might even be a student. Okay, so it most likely was, but it might even be a student seeking him as a teacher. Now that would be new, his being useful outside classroom.

Hearing a man's voice in his sister's room was nerve-breaking, but Tachibana held himself back. It wasn't the time to start crashing through doors, though he was quite sure there were people in the camp who might've found it hilarious. "It's me, Kippei. Is An there?"

"...She's asleep, I think." As should her brother be. Was it his teacherly duty to scold him for being still up, or would that be just hypocritical?

"...Okay. Then you come out." As pissed off as Tachibana was, he didn't want to wake his sister up because of this. Besides, she'd just yell at him for embarrassing her anyway.

"Whatever." Ryoga got up from where he had been lying on his bed, somewhat sleepy but pretty much awake. Glancing down at himself, he decided he was reasonably decent -- who needed something like a pyjama top, anyway? Walking to the door, he opened it, stepped outside, and closed it as quietly as possible so as not to wake An. "Should I prepare my last words or something?"

Tachibana gave the teacher a once over and shrugged. "Have you done anything that requires me killing you, then?"

"Not that I'm aware of. But then, I don't know what are your requirements for murder." Ryoga crossed his arms over his bare chest, looking down at Tachibana. He was just a touch taller than the student, thanks to the age difference no doubt. Good. He'd have hated to have someone both bigger than him and out for his blood.

"Ogling my sister in a towel would be one of them." Tachibana might not have been as good in staring people down up, but he was in his scary mode and it was all fire and murder with him under his "calm" composure and messy night hair.

"There's a certain difference between ogling someone in a towel and simply happening to be in the room when they walk out of the bathroom in a towel." Ooookay, this guy was creeping him out. And not in the creepy stalker way his father was so good at, but more in the "I'm seriously going to kill you" way.

"I'd have walked straight back out. That's only polite." Tachibana's voice had turned into a low growl at some point. He stuffed his hands into his pockets to prevent them from grabbing a hold of the teacher. Pointless murder was a pointless murder, and he knew his father wouldn't have approved killing someone if they really hadn't touched his sister. No need to tell the man that.

"I didn't have the time to walk out before she started screaming bloody murder." Ryoga sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Look, I don't like making her uncomfortable or anything, okay? But I need to sleep somewhere, too, and this is the room I was assigned to. It's not like I try to look at her or anything. I'm not into little girls, for fuck's sake."

"And you of course left immediately when she screamed?" Tachibana's eyes narrowed into slits. "And please don't curse."

"Nah. I actually tried to explain to her that I was not some random pervert trying to sneak a peek at her in the bathroom. You know, because I knew I'd actually have to get back into the room later on, too. But after I got the situation explained to her, I did leave so she could get some clothes on."

"And you couldn't you just have talked through the door?" That's what Tachibana did himself, when he happened in those situations. "She doesn't have a bad hearing. Or you could've explained it to her later! You freaked the hell out of her."

"Look, I wasn't exactly thinking straight, okay? Sure, she wasn't expecting to see a man standing there when she came out of the bathroom, but I sure wasn't expecting to see a half-naked girl walk into the room, either! Not exactly the best situation for well thought-out strategies, you know?"

This was why Tachibana was always telling his sister to stay away from guys! They were all perverts. Couldn't function right when they saw a half-naked girl. "A real man should be able to." He was able to. "a sensei should be able to!"

"The hell? Just because I'm a teacher, I don't have any right to be shocked? Just because she's a girl she has every right to freak out in an unexpected situation and I don't? Geez, my mother always told me girls aren't any weaker or less functional than guys, but I guess I've been wrong all these years."

"She's not a woman," Tachibana grrred. "She's a girl, and you're a man. There's a difference. I hate men like you."

"Men like me? What exactly do you even know about me, and how much are you just assuming? Yes, she's a girl, and I'm a man. I already told you. I'm. Not. Into. Little. Girls." Ryoga sighed, leaning against the door behind him. "Thanks for assuming I'm even more of a pervert than my old man. Didn't really think that would be possible."

"I know enough about men in general." Tachibana crossed his arms and glared at the man. They had walked far enough to be out of An's ear shot. He stopped. Here, a good dark corridor. His mind still called for murder, but there was that rational hurring in his ears. He hated that! Two years ago he hadn't had that, and he had punished people easily. Now he couldn't. "All of you adults in this camp are perverts!"

"Excuse me? Just because I'm a few years older than you and happen to be a teacher instead of a student means I'm a pervert?" Okay, now Ryoga was actually insulted. "Look, I may be a flirt, but that does not make me a bloody paedophile!"

"But you're a pervert anyhow." Tachibana could smell it miles away. "I'll tell you this, if you insist rooming with my sister, you'll be living under her rules and my rules. You're not allowed to look at her, think anything dirty while she's in the same room, think anything dirty about her, touch her, flirt with her OR say suggestive things while she's in the ear shot. Understood?"

"I haven't flirted with her, touched her, or thought anything dirty about her," Ryoga answered flatly. "How many times do I have to tell you I have no interest in her? Not look at her -- gods, how am I going to achieve that? Walk around with my eyes closed? And not thinking anything dirty while she's in the same room... oh, come on, seriously! I dare you spend two hours of your awake time without a single dirty thought. Also, I might remind you that this is not, and never was, my idea. I'm not the one responsible for the rooming arrangements. Am I making myself clear enough?"

"Crystal, sensei." Tachibana took his hands out of his pockets, turned to have a better ankle at the man, and then punched him in the face suddenly, without pulling back any of his strength.

"What the..." Okay, that hurt. That seriously hurt. And he was fairly sure he had not deserved it. "Are you fucking insane or something?"

"If I hadn't just done that-" Tachibana announced flexing his fingers few times, before stuffing his hands back into his pockets. "-I'd have killed you. Would you have preferred that?" plus it had felt really good. Better than anything after An had told him what made her uneasy about this guy. "Sensei."

"Threatening murder, now? Even though I haven't even done anything wrong as far as I know?" Ryoga brought a hand up to touch gingerly his face. That was definitely going to bruise. "Just so you know, if someone asks me where this came from, I'm going to tell them." He'd have much preferred to just hit back, but hey, he was supposed to be the adult here. Tachibana obviously wasn't going to be one.

"Oh, fuck you. This is about my sister. I'd kill and die for her." Tachibana glowered at the man, and then smiled just a little. At least the teacher was a man enough to take that punch. "You don't have to go exactly by the rules, but at least pretend. It'd make it so much easier for me."

"I can write it down for you if you'd like." Ryoga tried to smirk but it just hurt too much so he let it be. "I have no sexual interest in your sister. You can rest easy." 'Now, you are another matter altogether,' played at the tip of his tongue, but he didn't let it out.

"Can you please not say that word in the same sentence with my sister?" The words were grumpy, but Tachibana's face wasn't so scary anymore. "Oh, and don't curse in front of her either."

"Hey, now. I do have some manners, you know," Ryoga huffed. "I know how not to offend the ladies."

"Good." Tachibana yawned then. It reminded him of the late hour and his early morning training. "Well, that was it sensei. Good night!" He took the course towards his room. He'd made his point, and carved it on the man's face.

...Well. That had certainly been a strange encounter. "Good night, I guess," he muttered before returning to his own room -- and An's room.

At least he now knew what all those warnings had been about.
