It was like a blow to the chest, thinking his little sister was ....pregnant. Quite horrible. It made him see the thing from the worried brother's view again, instead of the angry and hurt brother's. His sweet, innocent sister was already.... it had to be a shock to An too, since she had been saying she wasn't about to get married anytime soon. However, if she was pregnant Kippei would make sure Yanagi married her at once, wanted the guy it or not.
It was late, so he assumed to find her in her room, which was opposite from his, or almost at least. Knocking on the door he wasn't thinking what to say or how to apologies, because that's what he should do first anyway, just that his little sister's life was going to change drastically and he needed to be there for her. Feeling she didn't need him was awful, so he didn't. She did and he needed to be there for her. The story of his life.
After Kippei found about her not being pure...An just felt guilty in a way, it was odd. Depressed was a good word to use. She hadn't even bothered to go to school. Not like she would be able to concentrate much. Renji had come over and he at least helped her feel a bit better about herself. And now she was sure that Kippei was bound to come. Shinji shouldn't have joked about her being pregnant.Kippei was going to read wrong and think she was and An was right.
An heard the knock on the door and automatically went to open it. She looked up at Kippei with a half glare and a frown. " Before you say anything. I am not pregnant."
"Before you shut the door to my face, I'm sorry", Kippei said exactly at the same time. Then he just stood there speechless for a moment. "You're not?" He hesitated, then caught her arm, pulling her into his embrace. "Oh thank goodness." And never tell him, but he sounded very much like a mother at the moment. Like a great weight had been dropped from his shoulders.
An blinked but hugged him tight. He was sorry? It made her feel better, "I'm sorry too, Kippei. And maybe you should have read that Shinji-kun said it was a joke." She said with a sigh.
His arms tightened around An. "I'm sorry I said all that mean stuff. I know I meant everything at the moment, but Shinji made me understand some things. You're my sister alright, nothing will ever change that. And I take care of my sister, no matter how idiotic she is." The older Tachibana really hoped her words meant she had forgiven him. And he added. "I would've apologized even without the joke. It would've taken a bit longer though, but I definitely would've."
If course An had forgiven him, the only thing she wanted were for things to be ok between them. " I'm sorry you had to find out that way but you know eventually it was going to happen. And I'm glad you did. The only thing I wanted was for you to come and give me a hug and say your sorry. She sniffled and rubbed her face against his chest. She wasn't going to cry. She wasn't
Kippei huffed quietly and looked to the side. Time for regaining some dignity. "I wasn't wrong you know. I still think you're too flickery. And I will not become all buddy buddy with that- guy just because I apologised. But I love you, and I don't want you to be sad."
She pulled away and pouted, " You know..maybe it was to soon, I'll give you that. And you don't have to be. Renji will make you acknowledge him eventually. "She said that with a confident smile. Renji was a good guy and Kippei would see that eventually. " I love you too, Kippei and I'm not sad anymore.."
"We'll see about that." For one Kippei knew he'd be giving the guy hard time if he ever got around trying. But he wasn't about to shoot An from her cloud just yet. If An wished he might give the guy a window of an opportunity. Might being the key word here. He ceased her by the

"I'll try not to be mean", Kippei made a serious promise from the heart and grinned all of a sudden. "As long as you don't tease me about Fuji anymore."
An pouted, " But I don't tease you...Fine." After all, Fuji-nii would be sure to tell her how they're doing and Kippei didn't even have to know about it.
Kippei was sure An would get to know all she wanted from Fuji - no matter how it bothered him a little to have his private life promoted around - but he didn't mind, as long as he didn't know about it. Such was the decision he'd made. "Thank you sis."
It felt great to know things were okay now. She didn't something heavy in her chest. An grinned and Kippei and hugged him tight, " Your welcome."
He blushed a little. She was definitely the cutest person he knew. The way she acted and reacted... All reminded him of cute cuddly things. Then again, An was the reason he liked those things. "So, will you start eating with me again An?" he asked out of the blue, with an exited glint in his eyes. He wanted to get back to taking care of her as soon as possible.
An laughed. She hadn't eaten dinner with him in two days, guess he missed her that much. "It hasn't even been that long but yeah..I'd like that...Could I bring Renji sometime?" Maybe that was pushing it but she didnt say now.
He gave it a thought, he really did. He'd once let An bring someone with them, or well, not let her, but he hadn't protested loudly against it, but when he thought about the guy his sister was dating - was having sex with - his answer was a sharp: "No." Then again, he doubted he'd be throwing the guy out either if he ever showed up with An... He had that much manners. He could glower and pout but he probably wouldn't say anything. But he left that for An to discover if she ever would.
That wasn't a very surprising answer. An would bring him one day..maybe in a few weeks or months.. " Fair enough."
