Who: Atobe Keigo and Oshitari Yuushi
What: Atobe visits with pizza
Where: Yuushi's dorm~
When: Friday night
Rating: Pg-13 for rape talk and stuff

Of course, Atobe knew knocking was the polite way to go about things. However, he also knew his hands were currently very full. He'd had things delivered fresh from the town, but he had to get them to Yuushi's room by himself nevertheless. Therefore, he decided against knocking and instead just kicked lightly at the door. "Open up!"

How unclothe, Yuushi thought as he heard someone banging on the door. Were they using their feet? He grinned as he stood to open the door like his old friend asked. "How elegant." He purred out with a raised eyebrow. "How are you, Keigo? Come on in." he grabbed the pizza boxes and put them on the bed so he could hug his friend.

"Not like I could do much, with no hands to use," Atobe chuckled, then set down the bag hanging from his wrist to return the hug. "I bought some coke if that's fizzy enough. If you meant champagne or something... well, you'd have to wait for me to go to my room. Can't exactly walk down the street and buy that at a store just yet."

"Still. You're Atobe Keigo, and that was totally undignified." He said, grinning. "Coke is perfectly acceptable." Yuushi gave his friend a wink. "How have you been? It's been a long time. I promise not to molest you if you'd like to sit on the bed."

"What can I say? Being subjected to all these common people has twisted my elegance and grace." Atobe chuckled a bit. "Me? Been better and worse. A lot has happened." He flopped down on the bed. "If you tried to molest me, you'd land yourself in the hospital. If you were lucky enough to survive."

"Poor Keigo, around commoners like us." He said, chuckling back, before raising a brow. "Everyone keeps saying that..." He opened one pizza box, and it was his meatball and extra cheese, and he groaned at the smell. "Yum...Oh, believe me, if I did, I think I'd do myself under."

"There's been a lot happening to a lot of people," Atobe said, shaking his head as he opened the other box. "Oi. I'm not that disgusting." He paused. "Marui still can't walk."

"Things tend to happen to people when growing up..." He replied, picking up a piece and saying his thanks before grinning. "Well, too bad I know you well enough to know you are. Wait...Marui...from Rikkai. Can't walk? Why not?"

Atobe almost reflexively murmured a quick grace before taking a piece of his own pizza. "Yes. Marui. From Rikkai." He sighed. "I lost a bet and his choice of prize was... fifteen minutes of make-out time. Better yet, he was rather crossing over to the realm of groping. And... it wasn't the only case. He did worse stuff." Another sigh. "The thing being... that was the final trigger. He groped me. Eishirou beat him so badly, he's still in a wheelchair."

Yuushi had the piece of pizza halfway to his mouth, frozen as he listened to the other. "...You have got to be joking."

"You think I'd joke about something like this?" Atobe's voice was quiet. "He beat Marui to hospital. Got suspended for a while; it almost broke us both." He took a bite of his pizza, chewed, and swallowed before continuing. "He did it once before, you know. Not as badly that time, but... Wakato Hiroshi. A copy player. I went to England for my grandma's funeral... He stole my wig and pretended to be me, coming back early. Got Eishirou to kiss him. When I showed up, Eishirou attacked him." Another pause. "...I think he'd have killed him if I didn't interfere."

Yuushi couldn't believe this. Shit...."And...he's the one you are engaged to?" That did not sound healthy at all...

"Yes." Atobe raised his left hand, looking at his ring. "...I don't think that's a concern, you know," he murmured. "I know people keep worrying... especially after that Marui incident." He chuckled dryly. "I actually ran into a door, you know. Never thought I'd be that clumsy in a panic... people thought he'd hit me. But he didn't. He never would." Atobe shook his head. "He's only hit me once, you know... and that time, I most definitely deserved it. I know he's too violent, yes. I wish he was more in control of his impulses. I wish he was less dangerous. But... I really don't believe he's a danger to me."

He couldn't help but frown. This man had hit Atobe before...and...beaten two others badly...what was Atobe thinking? "And you accepted....without demanding he take anger management?" He couldn't help but ask.

Atobe looked at Oshitari. "Yuushi... he proposed to me. I wasn't exactly about to make demands. That's for my father." He sighed. "It's not that easy, you know. And as I said... I don't believe he's dangerous to me."

"IF he loves you...and you love him, it should be that easy. You don't believe he is dangerous to you, but he had hit you. No matter if you feel you deserved it or not...Violence is not the answer." He said, putting down the piece of pizza.

"I was trying to drive him away, Yuushi," Atobe murmured. "I was afraid my father would harm him... harm his family. I said the worst things I could think of... everything I knew he despises the most. If he hit me once... I find myself impressed at his self-control." He chuckled faintly. "...God, this really is twisting my mind, isn't it? I used to think that violence's not the answer. Hell, I still do. Yet I just think I'm lucky he didn't beat me worse." His eyes were still fixated on the ring. "But... I do love him. And, well, knowing that someone would be willing to kill for you... it's a rather powerful thought. Very frightening, too. But very powerful."

"And when you aren't there to pull Kite away from the guy, and he does kill someone...you can see him in fifty to life." He said, seriously. "And no matter what...even just one hit. Is not cool...He is old enough to learn to use his words. And he should. You should be worried that he will be set off, and ruin his future career, or worse...someone else's life."

"You don't think I am worried?" Atobe asked. "You don't think I was afraid he'd assault my father when he was here? You don't think I keep worrying about when one of his practice matches goes too far, or when he finally loses his temper with fatal consequences? It's just... I can't just change him with the snap of my fingers, you know. I never chose to love him, I just do, regardless of his flaws or virtues. I can't change him like that... I can just keep trusting and hoping." He closed his eyes momentarily, closing his hand into a fist. "You know... there's a man. A man who hurt me. It'd be so easy, in the end... so easy to just tell Eishirou his name, tell him where to find him, everything. I know he'd kill him; that's a fact, not a guess. If that man died, I'd probably celebrate for a week. But I can't do that. Not just because I don't want to lose Eishirou... but also because if something pushes him over that edge, I don't want it to be me." He bit his lip. "I can just hope nothing ever will..."

Yuushi frowned at the other. "Keigo...You are playing with fire. And you, or Kite, are going to get burned. And do you really want to leave it up to chance, and just hoping? Deep down, you know that life does not work out. And if you really love him...you need to help him help himself." He drawled.

"...I know." Atobe finally turned to look at Oshitari. "But... it's not that easy, you know? It's a result of his background. I know it's wrong, but... it's not like he's telling me to stop solving everything with money." He paused. "Well, not all the time, anyway. But the point is... what can I do? He already knows I disapprove. That it frightens me when he gets violent. But I can't just... force him into counseling, or something. How am I supposed to help? Tell him I won't get married until I can be sure he won't attack someone again?"

Yuushi sighed. " You know, nothing in life that matters is ever easy, Keigo and...yes. You need to lay down the law. You are too scared of upsetting him, and seeing if he will flip again, aren't you? But...for you two to move forward as a couple...you have to do it. Clear the air, you know...? It won't be easy...." He said, frowning.

"I'm not afraid," Atobe murmured. He rather hoped he could have sounded more convincing. "I told you... I don't think he'd hurt me."

Raising a brow, he shook his head. "You do not sound very convincing. If you were so sure...you woud say tht He would not hurt you...." He reached over to put a hand on the other's shoulder.

"Are we going into semantics, now?" Atobe turned his eyes back to his ring. "I do trust him, Yuushi. I love him." He gave his friend a twisted smirk. "Even if I am afraid sometimes."

"Keigo..." He said, sighing. "I don't know if you are even listening. This isn't just about you or him. It's about his next victim, and his past...."

"You're the one who keeps saying I'm afraid of him," Atobe pointed out. "And I can't exactly keep him away from people, can I?"

"No, but you can help him learn how to control himself, so he can be safe from his temper. It just takes one mad choice and he's behind bars, and....money can only go so far." He retorted.

"I told you, Yuushi. I don't know what I should do," Atobe sighed. "All I know is... I can love him."

"And it's called tough love. Sit down and have an honest talk. If he truly wants to be with you, he wants to keep you safe, and he wants to make sure he is around for you..." He said softly. By now, the pizza was cold.

"How do you talk about something like that? 'Oh hi, love, I know this isn't a good time, but you know I really worry you might kill someone." Atobe shook his head. "...Should've known you'd make catching up difficult."

"Like it's my fault." He grumbled, before sighing. "I know it's hard....but sitting him down and saying outright 'this is really hard for me, and I don't want you to get upset but...for our future, I think we need to talk about your temper.' or something..."

"...Should've known you'd have the words ready," murmured Atobe. "But, point taken. I'll... think about it."

"Of course. After all, I am a tensai." He said, grinning.

"You're sappy, you mean." Atobe gave him a faint smile. "But! Other than that, I'm great," he said, forcing his voice to be confident. "Better than in years, actually... I think I've finally got my father out of the picture."

"I am a sappy Tensai." He corrected, before smiling. "That's good to hear, Keigo. So...shall we eat the luke-warm pizza now? Next time....let's go with the hard stuff after we eat..."

"I say we destroy the pizza," Atobe chuckled. "...Thankfully, it's one of the rare things that's edible both hot and cold."

"Very true but...you owe me a hot pizza still. Gimme a coke, will you?" Yuushi drawled out in his kansai accent.

"I didn't stop you from eating," Atobe replied. "But sure. And," he reached for the bag he'd set down earlier, "here you go."

"Oh yeah, cause I like to eat when I hear about violence." The bluenette said, rolling his eyes and sticking his tongue out at the other, before taking the bag. "Thanks. You want one?" He pulled out one can and pop'd the tab on it

"Hey, I could tell you some details about the rape and attempted murder if you wanted a diet." Atobe grinned half-heartedly. "Give me one."

Yuushi froze again, blinking at the other. "Please tell me you are...not serious." It took him a moment to fumble his hands enough to bring out the other can for his old friend.

"Sadly, I am," Atobe said seriously. "Wasn't me, though, if that's what you thought. Shook up pretty much the entire camp last autumn, though." He took the can, opening its tab. "Thanks."

"...I think I lost my appetite." Was all he could say as he closed the pizza box. "What the hell is going on in this school? Damn. At my old school, the only thing that was serious was who slept with whose boyfriend, or who was gay but pretending to be straight."

"Well, those two psychos got caught if you care," Atobe said. "So at least we know they're not still out there. Though when you've got middle school kids killing each other..." He shook his head.

"If I care? What is that supposed to mean, Keigo? You've thrown me for a loop, and I'm sitting here shocked, and you act like I don't care" He frowned. "I've taken a lot the past two days, and I'm still not feeling 100%. I'm still on England's time zone." He growled, completely ticked off.

"Oi! Nothing to get angry at me about," Atobe said, frowning as well. "Fine. A kid with a crush on Echizen, God help us, got jealous of Dan and teamed up with Fuji Syuusuke's psychotic ex. They attacked the two in the woods, assaulted Fuji and very nearly killed Dan. The kid's aqua-phobic, so of course the psycho decided to drown him. Luckily enough, Dan's dog got Echizen and his brother there. Both lived, recovered physically at least, and the two bastards were caught, so now kids are all safe to walk their dogs outside should they so wish. Happy?"

Hearing the other's words seriously made Yuushi's stomach crawl, and when Atobe was finally done, he looked over at the other, face green. "I...I think I need to be alone right now. Please get out." So much was going through his mind right now, and he couldn't even begin to process any of it.

Atobe frowned. "...What?" Okay, that was not exactly what he had intended.

"Please...leave." He repeated, trying to control his stomach enough to not have to run to the bathroom to vomit.

"Not before you explain me what's wrong!" As far as Atobe could tell, Oshitari had been upset because he'd just mentioned the incident and not given details. So, he'd given details. And now he was getting chased out?

He couldn't hold it in anymore, and he made a dash to the bathroom, where he fell to the floor in front of the toilet and emptied his stomach violently. After a few deep breaths, he vomited again, until there was nothing left, and flushed, standing shakily to gargle mouth wash. He turned back toward his room to see Keigo still there.

...Okay. That was just... wrong. "...You okay?"

"Do...I look okay?" He whispered, glaring at the other. "I asked you to leave...."

: "And leave you like that?" Fat chance of that happening.

"Yes...you've done enough." He threw the pizza boxes off the bed, and dumped the bag off, before crawling into bed and pulling the covers over him. Oh, god...Gakuto...Fuji-kun and Dan-kun...

"At least tell me what I did, damn it!"

"Keigo...please...just go." He whispered, feeling like if he didn't get to try and sooth his brain and stomach, he'd be dry heaving next.

"...Fine." Atobe sighed. He felt worried because Oshitari really seemed to be badly off, and guilty because apparently it was his fault somehow, and annoyed because he sure as Hell didn't know just what he had done so wrong here. Sure, it was upsetting stuff, but he'd never thought Oshitari quite that sensitive.

Finally alone, he moved to switch off the light, and shed his pants, before crawling back in bed. His glasses were put on the nightstand and he laid in the dark, trying to figure out the amount of information thrown at him within the last twenty-four hours. Oh, god, his old teammates....his old friends....
