Taka smiled as he stepped outside into the courtyard. It wasn’t snowing, but there was packed snow down on the ground, and it was chilly. The sun was out, and it felt nice to see it as he slipped his gloves on and tightened his scarf. Jin was meeting him so they could have a little walk.

Akutsu sighed. He slipped on his scarf and headed outside to meet up with Taka. He grumbled as the cold air hit him and looked around for a sign of the other male.

Spotting the grumpy friend of his, he smiled and waved, calling the other over. "Yo, Jin!" He moved toward the other boy.

"Hey." Akutsu said as he dug into his pockets. He fished out a pack of cigarettes, pulling one out and sticking it into his mouth. He shoved the pack back into his pocket and searched for his lighter. "So what are we doing, just wandering or something...?" He didn't know if he was really looking forward to walking around in the cold.

Noticing the other getting a cigarette, Taka scrunched his nose, and reached out to flick the cigarette out of the other's mouth. "We're not smoking, and taking a walk." He responded with a grin.

Akutsu glared at the other. "Don't tell me what to do." He frowned and pulled out another cigarette. "I'll do what I want."

Taka glared back. "I won't, but Damnit, Jin, those things stink. If you want to smoke, I'll go on my walk alone." He said, seriously. He did not care for the smell of smoke at all. He usually tolerated the stale cigarette smoke on the other, but he couldn't stand it when Jin smoked in front of him.

It was silent for a moment. Akutsu continued to glare, not quite believing that Taka was in fact glaring right back at him. And it didn't seem like the other was going to change his mind either. He knew it would simply be easier for him to just ignore the other and go back to his room, but for some reason he didn't want to. The next moment found him turning his head, grumbling and putting the cigarette away with a frown.

Their eyes locked, and after a stare down for a minute, he pulled away, smirking. Jin might be a pain in the ass, but he was a nice one, at least. "Thank you, Jin." Taka said softly, as he started walking. "It's nice out here, even though it's cold, right?"

Akutsu shoved his hands into his pockets and followed the other. "Yeah... whatever..." He mumbled.

"Aren't you in a wonderful mood. What's up?" He asked, stealing a look at the other as they walked along the small beaten pathway.

Akutsu shrugged, kicking his feet at the snow at he walked. "Nothing much." He answered.

"If you say so." Taka replied, taking a glance at the scenery around them. It was beautiful with the white snow gleaming with the sun shinning gently down.

Akutsu was silent for a while. Mostly, just thinking, but partially because he couldn't smoke. Eventually he decided to speak up. "Oi... What made you decide to set up that whole blind date thing...?" He honestly saw no point in the whole idea.

He knew the other was thinking, and the silence wasn't awkward, so Taka continued walking, enjoying the sight. Smiling at the oher's words, he knew it would come up again. For some reason, Jin was very much against this. "Truthfully...it's all a master plan to try and get Oishi and Eiji together." He could trust Jin not to blab.

"Couldn't they just do it themselves or something...?" Akutsu asked not that he really cared either way.

"They are both idiots." He said, chuckling. "Basically, they have both talked to me, and both confessed that they like the other, but 'oh no! he could never feel that way about me!' So...I decided to do something abut it." He replied, with a grin.

Akutsu hardly paid any attention to what Taka was saying. Instead he waited till the other finished talking before speaking again. "I still don’t get why you're participating though...." He didn't know why the thought of the other participating annoyed him so much.

Taka paused mid step, and turned to the other. "Why is it bothering you so much, Jin?" He countered, raising a brow. Why did Jin keep asking him that?

Akutsu ran a hand through his hair. "The hell if I know." He answered after moment. He wished he knew. It would make everything easier instead of trying to figure it out.

"Don't worry Jin. I think I can handle myself." He teased, leaning to bump into the other gently, as he smiled. "It's all just good and fun."

"Che whatever..." He grumbled, a frown on his face.

"Why didn't you tell me about your break up with Kintarou?" Taka asked the other, trying not to grin at the other's grumpy look.

Akutsu shrugged. "I don't know... I guess I wasn't thinking about it." He answered. He thought back to the way he had done it. He hadn't talked to the small redhead since then. "Pretty much I just said I was bored with it and it was over..." He explained.

"Ah..." Well, that was sort of like Jin, to do something and not think or talk about it again. But hearing what he said surprised him, and he looked at the other with wide chocolate brown eyes. "Eh? Really, Jin? You said that to him?"

"Something like like that." Akutsu answered with shrug.

“And what did he say? Are you guys still friends?" Taka asked softly, as they treked through the snow. It was so nice out here.

"Never got a reply..." In some ways it annoyed him that Kintarou never said anything. "I think that was the last thing I said to him." He didn't count the random hi and byes of sharing a room with the other.

“Eh..really? Maybe…he’s upset…” Taka said, blinking. He felt sort of bad hearing about this.

: "Who knows... I don't care either way." Akutsu replied. "He's not bothering me anymore."

"Jin...You don't mean that." Taka said, eyes wide with shock. He knew the other pretended, but in reality, Jin was a sweet guy.

Sure I do." Akutsu said, scratching the back of his head. "I finally got rid of him."

"He was your boyfriend...didn't you care for him at all? Rid....Jin..." He trailed off, frowning.

"I didn't even want to be with him in the first place. He followed me around until I said yes." Akutsu grumbled. Though, Taka was right and he did care a little, he wasn't going to admit it.

"Really? Oh...still. He's a person." He grumbled, kicking at the snow a little. He would hate if someone treated him like that.

"He was annoying..." Akutsu said.

Taka rolled his eyes. "So if I'm annoying you, you'll just do the same?" He asked, mock serious.

"Che... no..." Akutsu answered, looking away.

"Well, I guess if I can handle you for nine years, than you're stuck with me, now." He teased, smiling.

"Whatever..." Akutsu said. "I couldn't get rid of you if I tried."

"That's true. But you wouldn't want to get rid of me, anyway. I feed you." Taka rebutted.

"Heh, I guess not..." Akutsu answered.

"Heh..." Taka chuckled slightly, and shivered as a strong gust of wind blew past them.

"Damn it's cold out here." Akutsu said as crossed his arms.

"Just a little bit...Should we go back toward camp?" He asked, shoving his hands in his pockets and shrugging his shoulders a bit.

: "Yeah let's go back..."Akutsu nodded. He turned in the direction of camp.

Turning with the other, he smiled a bit as they huddled together down the pathway back to where it was warmer.

The walk back was quiet for the most part. Akutsu didn't have much else to say. As soon as they got back, he planned on ditching the other for a cigarette.

The wind was cold, but the air smelled fresh and clean, and he enjoyed walking back in silence, taking in the sight. He didn’t see the stray leaf that fell onto he temple of his hair.

Akutsu glanced over to the other as the leaf landed in the other's hair. Without saying anything, he reached over and flicked it off, before shoving his hands into his pockets.

Taka saw the other's hand reach out, but until there was a flick to his head, he didn't move. After the flick, he yanked his head away from the hand. "Jin! What was that for?" He asked, a gloved hand coming to rub the spot.

"There was a leaf." Akutsu answered as he continued to walk.

"Oh..." Taka blushed, ducking his head a bit. "Thank you..."

"Yeah yeah... whatever..." Akutsu looked back ahead of them and continued walking.

Chuckling, because sometimes Jin pouting was just too cute to resist. They were almost back to camp, and he felt better already. Just taking a walk with his mostly silent friend helped him wind down his brain.

Akutsu ignored Taka's chuckling and kept walking, not caring at the moment to ask what was so funny even though he was slightly curious.

As they came upon the courtyard, Taka slowed to a stop, smiling at his friend. "Thanks for taking a walk with him, Jin. I'd say we should go get some hot chocolate to warm up...but I know you, and you won't go inside until you have a smoke. Want me to get a couple and you can meet me in the cafeteria after you're done?" He asked, cocking his head to the side slightly.

"Sure you do that." Akutsu said as he pulled his pack of cigarettes from his pockets. His lighter came next. "See ya in a few."

With a two-finger salute, Taka headed inside out of the cold to get them something warm.
