Ryoma walked into the room he now shared with Buchou and frowned. It had been a busy day; first his run-in with Marui, then Ryoga coming over... And he was still sore after said run-in with Buchou's ex, and he flopped down on the bed with a sigh, his scraped face feeling stiff and uncomfortable. "You know what Marui's on now," he asked off handedly over to the other bed.

Tezuka was still getting used to being around Echizen as much as being roommates required, and watching Echizen wander back into the room that was apparently theirs felt a little...abnormal. "No, I don't," He shook a hand through his damp hair. "I am trying not to care." A squint confirmed that Echizen did look a little messier than normal. Tezuka wasn't sure if this was normal or not. "Did you fall?"

"Kinda." He shrugged it off, only to lean forward and pin Buchou down with his eyes. "He says he doesn't remember being close to anyone in Seigaku."

Tezuka didn't flinch. Well then. "I see." If Marui wanted to be that way - no, it didn't matter.

Ryoma frowned. "Doesn't that piss you off?" Before he could help himself, he countinued:

"Like when Sanada smacked you? You're not just taking crap from them, right, Buchou?"

Getting lectured by Echizen of all people was just the icing on a very painful cake. "What would you like me to do?" He stared back. "Hit him back? Pretend I never dated Marui?" Fighting back in this sense just seemed...pointless. Tezuka shook his head. "I suppose then that yes, I am taking crap like that from them."

"Hitting him would be stupid." Ryoma shrugged, a bit taken aback by Buchou's reaction. "You could go wipe his ass in the try outs, and then just drop out anyway. Or something."

Tezuka had already considered that, but. "Sanada had a bout of violent immaturity," He replied slowly after a moment of consideration. Sanada was easily forgiven. Tezuka had come to accept he was a giant moron. Besides, sports day would be enough.

"Is that your way of saying that he's a brat," Ryoma grinned. Ouch. His stomach hurt. Stupid, stupid Marui.

"Yes," was the blunt reply. He eyed Echizen, the edges of his mouth tilted down. "What happened?"

Ryoma smirked at that, then shrugged. "Uh... Nothing, really. Just a silly... Thing."

"Thing," Tezuka echoed blandly, standing and crossing the room. Echizen's face was scraped and he looked a little - sore? Or Tezuka was imagining it, he wasn't sure. But Echizen wasn't the type to walk into a brick wall and Tezuka hadn't heard him tumble off the bed and scratch up his face. "What happened, Echizen?"

"I went philosophical and physical with your Ex, okay?" Why was Buchou pressing him about this anyway? It wasn't as if it was such a big deal.

There were incidents with Fuji at the front of his mind, but a closer glance of Echizen made Tezuka figure that this wasn't as bad. "Did he hit you? No, forget I asked," He conceded, leaning away. He would leave Echizen alone to deal with his problems, as Tezuka would expect Echizen to do with him.

"Yeah." The boy wonder shrugged. "I didn't get to land a single punch on him though."

"I'll decided later whether that is a good or bad thing." Tezuka shook his head slightly, turning to wander back to his bed. His head hurt with the lack of sleep and Marui apparently deciding they had never happened but he was wide awake and a little bit worried about what 'philosophical and physical' meant despite his best efforts not to.

Ryoma sighed and started to undress, slipping out of all his clothes except his underwear before he bent over to look for his pajama bottoms. He glanced over at his torso, making a small face at the ugly bruise there, then dismissed it, finding his sleeping outfit and slipped into them before climbing onto his bed, under the covers. He was silent for a while, then...

"Buchou... Will you be okay?"

There was a Chemistry workbook he had bought over the summer waiting for him next to the pillow on what was supposedly his bed, but the more Tezuka looked at it the worse his head felt. Honestly, ugh. Silently, he slid the book under the pillow and fell back to stare at the ceiling. Echizen's question felt impossible and a little embarrassing, worthy of a proper bang of his head against a wall. "Yes," He answered, pulling off his glasses and folding them with loving care. "Thank you. Go to sleep."

"But..." Oh well, let Buchou deal with his own problems. He was a big guy. He could do it. And there was also the small fact that Ryoma respected him too much to snoop around in his business far too much. "...'Night."

"Good night." Blurring his vision hadn't helped any and barely five minutes later Tezuka tugged the workbook back out and quietly left the room. Anyone, huh...
