Drabble Series: Yami no Matsuei - Three Little Words [1/?] (Hisoka, Tsuzuki)

Jun 08, 2006 18:40

Rating: G
Summary: Hisoka and Tsuzuki did not stay partners.
AN: Part of a new drabble series. (Drabble being 'around 100 words' in this case because I don't want to shorten this.) More coming soon I hope. (Feel free to request "three little words" and/or characters in comments. I can't guarantee anything, but inspiration is always a good thing.)

Hisoka glares at Tsuzuki. Tsuzuki glares at Hisoka. Hisoka snaps, Tsuzuki yells, and loud, childish argument erupts between the two of them. They never got along, not with Hisoka's temper and Tsuzuki's stubborn childishness, not with so many walls in between them and the world.

Then Hisoka crosses a line, and he knows because the words die on his lips. He knows though Tsuzuki learned to lock him out long ago. He knows because he can read his ex-partner far too easily without his empathy; there aren't so many mixed up emotions that he can mistake one for the other.

"Take the pie." Tsuzuki says, getting up to leave. Hisoka grabs his hand without thinking, and silence stretches between them. When Tsuzuki sits again, Hisoka's fingers brush the back of his hand and he has to force a smile. They're building each other’s walls, they know, because the world around them is crumbling.
