Last time I took comps, I was all over this journal about it. This time, I have mostly been trying not to think about it. I'm quite glad now that the schedule got shifted to three weekends, because with the craziness that keeps coming up with these essays, I really do need a break between them.
I am two down, one to go. I thought this last one wouldn't be hard, and as it turned out, I was totally wrong about that. This next one I know will be, and so I trying to get over the "I SUCK" freak out on the last paper (the whole body was rewritten to not suck as much, but the Intro and Conclusion were dodgy, and I keep friggin' messing up my works cited though I have worked VERY HARD to make those accurate!) tonight so that I can focus on work for the next paper.
Luckily, though, as soon as those are over, I have two weeks of travel. It's good to have a busy brain. ;)
But! Enough about me, yall wanted cat pictures. So I found you guys some cat pictures!
Just to remind you: this is Dora. She's kinda a brat.
This is Athena. She is totally a brat--and loud about it--but she's also much friendlier than Dora-bi to new people.
Dora likes to sit in my lap. A lot. It's her favorite cuddle spot, and she gets very insistent about being there. While she'll usually sprawl out and purr a bit, sometimes she likes to just look up. In the midst of finishing Comp 2, she crawled into my lap and did exactly this. It was a little distracting.
Athena does the lap thing, too, but she also likes to cuddle up against me (she is doing this right now, in fact). Athena is much more demanding, so if I can push her to the side I do, at which point she'll often THUNK right into my shoulder and purr. ~Kiiitty~ (don't tell her I said so)
The cats sorta get along, at times better than others. As this is the sunny spot in the apartment, they can often be found chilling in not-too-close proximity there.
See? They are totally ignoring each other! That cardboard-y thing Athena is lying on is a scratcher, one that Dora will rip into with a vengeance at times. (I have yet to get Athena interested in scratching things besides the couch. She has done some seeerious damage to the back of my chair, let me tell you. Dora will occasionally join in, but this scratcher has been one of her best buddies.)
Topic switch! On Sunday I went outside to smoke on the back balcony at school and noticed that the sky was very red to the West. So I switched balconies and took pictures. This is the big view.
Sunset view. I took about six pictures in this direction, trying to capture the RED under the clouds. I didn't do so well--my camera and I are still adjusting to each other--but you can kinda see why I was interested.
Here's the direction of the storm. I love that yellow sky, and I love the hints of red under the clouds. S'awesome!
All right, let's see if I can finish off White Collar. (I finished Burn Notice, and then started rewatching it. Um. I really like the feel of the show?)
