I have gone over subjects for this post as if this were a blog to take seriously, instead of a jumble of thoughts and daily ramblings.
I'm tired, so we'll go with a few random things about this weekend:
--I've spent the last few days working on the HDLS conference website. It is actually turning out fairly nice--I haven't sworn a hole in the screen!--but I am afeared to say much more than that, because I don't want to jinx it. It's funny how tech, for all that is science-made-flesh, is remarkably prone to jinxing.
--Princess Tutu remains awesome, and the Editorial Reviwer on Amazon.com is a moron. Also, I hope I'll pick up my old Tutu 'fic one of these days, because I...kinda like it.
--Kee and Nym, from the ~Epic Love Story~, have been talking to each other and to me for the last few days. Kee is enjoying being chatty about being the Worst Werewolf Ever. Nym is mostly talking about her hair. Actually, they both talked about their hair a lot today, come to think of it..
--I really love
Girl Genius. I've been simultaneously rereading it and pining for more. Which is weird given that there's seven and a half volumes of it, but it's just that good.
--The moon was gorgeous tonight, simply gorgeous. As I was driving back, it was rising over the mountains, big n' beautiful n' dangerous. It was so captivating I took my stuff upstairs, dropped it, grabbed my camera and ran back out to try and get pictures of it. Sadly, it's really hard to get a good picture of the moon, even when I drove back down Montaño for a wider view. But that mental picture of it at dusk, silver over purple mountains--aaah. (Yes, I have a thing for the moon.)
--I've been thinking of doing some sort of photo challenge. I've thought for a while of driving around Albuquerque and taking pictures of street signs, because we have things like "Quincy" and a whole section of random women's names and "Kiowa" and "Aztec" next to each other...and well, it'd be nice to use my camera more, cheap digital or not. Or studies of the moon. Or more pictures from the mountain. Or hey, of my apartment! ...I have some sort of Fall restlessness, I'm catching that. ;)
--I really love having a bathtub back. I think I've taken a bath a day since Friday, and it's LOVELY.
And now I should sleep. I promised I'd get down to school early so I could fill in some more webpage stuff before work, and also to see if Dee's alive with my own eyes (I had a dream, but try explaining that over the phone). BPAL is supposed to update tonight, but I suppose I'll be up early enough to see it anyways...
