~In the still...of the night...~
We're going to play trivia tonight, up at Gecko's. Me and Ducky and SM and E and Root. Maybe Dee, if he shows. (B! I'm so sorry I didn't get back to your text last night; I really need to stop leaving my phone in my other pants.)
It doesn't start for another hour, so I'm working on class materials. Attendance quiz sheets, mostly, though I really need to set up something to keep track of their grades, too.
I'm up to sixty-nine students.
~Guess she get a chip on her shoulder...~
I've been listening to the Legally Blonde: The Musical soundtrack a lot, courtesy of the Kitten (AKA
kasuchi). It's extremely good for belting out in the car, and the music is pretty much all upbeat enough to spice up the drive. It is a bit better than lots of repetitions of "Ya Mama," which I have listened to faaaar too many times in a row in the past month or so.
"Chip On Your Shoulder" is a particularly good song for grad. school. Not entirely applicable, but like I said, good belting out music. Sometimes you just need that, especially if your interest in school has been flagging a little.
~Catnip Dream, Catnip Dream...~
I've been trying out this cat language stuff I read online on Dora--interesting stuff like "a slow blink means I have affection for you" sorta thing. It's had mixed results. It does make me realize, though, how strange it seems when people talk about cats being unaffectionate. My cat follows me around, lay on me, lays by me, licks my head when I'm in pain, and is generally loving.
Perhaps the whole crux of that is that cat's aren't affectionate to every one, that they're pair bonders not pack bonders? I dunno. I really do think there's something psychological about if you prefer cats or dogs, something about your personality that translates to that, but heck if I can put my finger on it.
Also in Origin of Language today (a much more animated class than I thought it would be), I was thinking of all the ways my cat lies to me. Amazing how she does that.
~Aoi sora ni wa...~
Such lovely weather recently. Cold, though--and I keep dressing completely wrong for it. You'd think in my many, many years of dressing to a colder clime, I would be able to do this "appropriate for the weather" thing. But I've been kinda sucking on it.
Back to you, flist.
