The reason my nose is now glued to my wrist

I got my bottle of El Dia de Reyes today.

(That and some other stuff. My third imp of Fruitcake, for instance. And an imp of Akuma, which I've been wanting to try.)

For those not in the know, the perfume is said to consist of hot cocoa with cinnamon, coffee, and brown sugar, so very much like your basic, non-alcoholic Mexican coffee. It smells in the bottle like the best hot chocolate in the world. On me, the coffee comes out a bit more, but that just means it smells like the best mocha in the world. It's rich and resonant and has me absolutely enraptured! Plus, apparently, fond of alliteration. It's one of those smells where you go, "I would buy an extra bottle of this just so I could gift others with its awesomeness."

And since the Yules haven't gone down yet, don't think I'm not tempted.

In "not perfume" news, I got two of the three things on my list today done! Or mostly done; the CV needs more polishing, but I'd hit the "I hate you I hate you I hate you!" point on it, so it was time to go turn it in. Didn't highlight Project/Project 2 experience as much as I should've and totally pulled my publication history for lack of knowing how to reference it, but boy did I get every bit of teaching I've ever done on there. Sorta what I'm concentrating on right now, ya know?

Talked to my stepdad tonight, which was, as usual, funny and fun. He's such a hoot on the phone. I talked him up on using YouTube and Google to find and listen to songs he likes, so we'll see how that works for him.

Now I'm swirled in my comforter and contemplating an early bedtime. I was up at six this morning, roundabouts, so it's allowed. Perhaps a little longer...

family, takin' it for the cv, grad school: the beginninging, bpal
