It has come to pass

Every semester, I find that one thing that I can use to procrastinate.

A year ago, it was Tezuka/Ryo 'fic (by a certain author, mostly). A semester ago, it was Halo cutscenes. This year, it seems to be reading a certain source material so I can write stories in my head.

About ninjas.

That no one will ever read. (Except for, possibly, if your name begins with R and ends with -nos.)

Now, I am normally all upfront about what sources I am using to write these stories. But since these stories have a sorta citrus flavor (translation: involve sex in some way), I am keeping mum. 'Cause, ya know, ninjas are private people. To claim in public that you are in the process of writing a story about ninjas gettin' it on, and...well, let me give you an illustrative dialogue:

A: What's up?
B: Writin'. I have these new stories about ninjas.
A: Gettin' it on?
B: Of course.
A: Which series?
B: Well, I'm going with--*whoosh THWOCK*
(B keels over dead, a ninja star in throat)
A: Man, I should've seen that coming.

I am excluding Naruto from this scenario, simply because said death would take episodes to happen.

Yes, this is my chosen form of procrastination for this semester. It shall be so.

Of course, I've been doing it for the last half hour by chatting and reading things on Wiki, but that's just so normal, ya know? It's the end of the semester! Desperate times, desperate measures, etc. etc.

And spamming Twitter. Can't forget the spamming of Twitter.

On a random note: as I was settling in this evening, I saw through the door the Chair's wife come gliding across the floor by the pit, do a turn, and step into the Chair's arms to do a waltz. Complete with more turns. I barely repressed my urge to shout SO CUUTE! within the Lab.

And when I walked out to get food, I didn't look at them. It was, after all, their moment.

in a time..., inside my mind, grad lab nights
